  10/23/20 - QB Nate CoxrSr/2023, Nevada

It looks like junior college transfer Nate Cox gets the first shot at the No. 2 slot. Cox is listed as Strong's backup on Nevada's depth chart for Saturday's game, ahead of sophomore Jake Barlage. Although Cox will be unfamiliar to Wolf Pack fans, he won't be difficult to spot. At 6-foot-9, he is the tallest player on Nevada's roster. Cox comes to the Pack after one season at Garden City (Kan.) Community College, where he completed 51.8 percent of his passes for 1,891 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also spent two seasons at Louisiana Tech, but did not play. "Nate's an interesting guy...he's 6-9 and three-eighths; he looks more like a basketball player than he does a football player," Nevada offensive coordinator Matt Mumme said Monday. "He throws a really nice ball, and he can really see the field well just because of his height." - Reno Gazette Journal
