After splitting much of the carries through the first two weeks between Doaks, Alabama transfer Jerome Ford and sophomore Charles McClelland, Cincinnati appeared to have done away with having the running backs share the load and instead let Doaks take the lead in the backfield. Doaks had 102 yards and a score on 22 carries. Ford had nine carries, while McClelland had eight. "During the week, it was kind of hinted in there as the game plan, but when the game time comes, best back's up," Doaks said. "I think (offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock) saw that I was producing more, so he just kind of rolled with me with more reps." Following his 10-yard score in the first quarter, Doaks now has a team-high six touchdowns this season. "We've been saying that we wanted to find a way to get somebody in the groove," Fickell said. "Had the game been a little bit different, I think you would have seen more of him in the fourth quarter." - Cincinnati Enquirer
