Ohio State wide receiver C.J. Saunders will not face a misdemeanor charge for violating curfew in Columbus, according to online court records. A Franklin County Municipal Court judge dismissed his case for time served during an arraignment Thursday. Saunders had been arrested for a curfew violation Monday night near just north of Ohio State's campus after attending protests over the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died while in police custody in Minneapolis last week.

Since last weekend, Columbus has had a curfew implemented that starts at 10 p.m. and expires at 6 a.m. in an effort to quell some of the demonstrations, which have arisen in cities across the country. Saunders was held in the Franklin County jail before he posted a $104 bond Tuesday morning. In the aftermath of Floyd's death, Saunders has been outspoken regarding issues involving racial justice. He was featured in a video message promoting racial equality that was released by Ohio State and addressed a crowd at a player-driven protest on Tuesday. - Columbus Dispatch
