Cameron Rising threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns to tight end Dalton Kincaid, and No. 13 Utah rolled past Arizona State 34-13 on Saturday night. The Utes spoiled the debut of Arizona State's Shaun Aguano, who was named interim coach earlier this wee k after Herm Edwards was fired following last weekend's loss to Eastern Michigan. Utah (3-1, 1-0 Pac-12) won its third straight since a season-opening loss to Florida. Arizona State (1-3, 0-1) lost its third in a row. Utah never trailed, jumping ahead 7- 0 in the first quarter when Rising hit Kincaid for a wide-open 29-yard touchdown. The Rising-Kincaid connection hooked up again later in the first quarter when Kincaid made a tough, fourth-down catch in traffic for a 6-yard score that pushed the advantag e to 14-0.The Utes built a 17-0 lead by midway through the second quarter and led 24-6 at halftime. Utah outgained Arizona State 252-59 in the first half. Rising completed 19 of 29 passes and the Utes finished with 465 total yards. Arizona State's Emory Jones was 21 of 36 passing for 261 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Utah's defense sacked Jones five times and the Sun Devils didn't score a touchdown until the final minutes when the outcome was already decided. It's been a week of uph eaval for the Arizona State program, which fired Edwards on Sunday, one day after an embarrassing 30-21 loss to Eastern Michigan. The program is also in the midst of an NCAA investigation that involves recruiting violations. Aguano - formerly the running backs coach - was named the interim coach. He was born and raised in Kapaa, Hawaii, but eventually became one of the most decorated high school coaches in Arizona history, leading Chandler High to four state 6A titles. - Utah/AP College Football

Nate Wiggins broke up Sam Hartman's fourth-down pass in the end zone to help No. 5 Clemson hold off No. 21 Wake Forest 51-45 in double overtime on Saturday. Wiggins had been targeted frequently by Hartman and the Wake Forest receivers but came through to knock away Hartman's final ball for A.T. Perry. He fell to the end zone turf, then sprung up to join his team in celebration after a wild shootout between the reigning Atlantic Coast Conference's Atlantic Division Demon Deacons and the preseason league favorite Tigers. "We'll get this defense fixed," Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said on the ESPN postgame interview. "But man, this offense … all the big plays, they never flinched. That's what it's all about. I'm just really proud of them. they grew up a little bit tonight." D.J. Uiagalelei threw for 375 yards and five touchdowns to lead Clemson (4-0, 2-0 ACC), including the go-ahead score over the middle to Davis Allen to start the second overtime. The Tigers also came up with a few key plays defe nsively at big moments late to take some pressure off an injury-battered secondary, including Tyler Davis teaming with linemate Myles Murphy to sack Hartman on a potentially winning Wake Forest drive that had neared midfield late in regulation. Hartman t hrew for 337 yards and a program-record six touchdowns for Wake Forest (3-1, 0-1), including two each to Jahmal Banks and Donavon Greene. But the Demon Deacons stalled out near midfield on a potential winning drive to end regulation, then couldn't stop t he Tigers in the first OT after starting off with Hartman's TD throw to Perry. It marked Clemson's 14th straight win in the series, with Wake Forest's last win coming in 2008 - which led to the ouster of Tommy Bowden as coach and Swinney being named the interim. - Clemson/AP College Football

Brock Bowers scored two more touchdowns and No. 1 Georgia survived a sloppy performance and surprisingly gritty effort from Kent State, holding off the Golden Flashes 39-22 Saturday. The Bulldogs (4-0) turned it over three times, struggled in the red zon e, were burned on a fake punt and gave up several big plays to Kent State (1-3) in what was easily their worst performance of the season. Was it bad enough to knock Georgia out of the top spot in the rankings? Check back Sunday. Kent State had a chance t o make it a one-score game with less than 13 minutes remaining after Marquez Cooper scored on a 1-yard run to cap a 12-play, 75-yard drive. But a two-point conversion failed, leaving the Bulldogs with a 32-22 lead. Georgia then finished off the Golden Fl ashes, driving 75 yards for Kendall Milton's 1-yard plunge on fourth-and-goal with 5 1/2 minutes to go. Bowers, coming off a three-touchdown performance against South Carolina, took it to the end zone on the second play of the game with a dazzling 75-yar d run.Going in motion to take a handoff, the sophomore tight end found a big hole around right end and never stopped running, turning on his impressive speed down the sideline in front of the Georgia bench. Bowers also scored on a 2-yard run, stre ngthening his credentials as one of the nation's most dynamic offensive weapons. But Bowers was the exception for Georgia on this day. Ladd McConkey lost a pair of fumbles, once on a punt return, another after catching a pass in Kent State territory. Ste tson Bennett threw his first interception of the season, though he did score on a 1-yard dive, sticking the ball across the line while falling on his back with 8 seconds left in the first half to send the Bulldogs to the locker room up 26-13. Georgia set tled for three field goals by Jack Podlesny after driving inside Kent State's 20-yard line, which allowed the Golden Flashes to hang around. Kent State was facing a team currently ranked in the AP Top 25 for the third time in its first four games, having already lost to No. 18 Washington and No. 6 Oklahoma. - Georgia/AP College Football

Georgia Southern coach Clay Helton said after Saturday's loss to UAB that inside linebacker and team captain Todd Bradley-Glenn suffered a dislocated elbow that caused him to leave the game near the close of the third quarter. "We'll see how significant it is," Helton said. "They did get it back in place and they've got it slinged up. Depending on what the MRI says later on, we'll see how it goes." Bradley-Glenn, in three quarters of play, made four solo tackles and assisted on three others and also had a quarterback hurry. He is in his seventh year after a series of season-ending football injuries and overcoming cancer in high school. He voted one of the team captains before the 2022 opener. - Savannah Morning News
