Miller Moss threw two touchdown passes to Chris Bell and ran for a score, Louisville intercepted four of Miami star Carson Beck's passes and the Cardinals got one of the most significant wins in their history by topping the second-ranked Hurricanes 24-21 on Friday night. Louisville (5-1, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) got touchdowns on its first two drives for a quick 14-0 lead, and the Hurricanes (5-1, 1-1) trailed the rest of the way. Louisville also snapped Miami's 10-game home winning streak. The la st team to win at Miami? That was Louisville, in 2023. The Hurricanes were in field-goal range, but Louisville's TJ Capers intercepted Beck's pass at the 30 with 32 seconds left to seal the win. Moss completed 23 of 37 passes for 248 yards, and Isaac Bro wn ran for 113 yards on 15 carries for Louisville. Bell had nine catches for 136 yards, his TD grabs going for 35 and 36 yards. Beck completed 25 of 35 passes for 271 yards for Miami. The Hurricanes had little success rushing the ball, generating o nly 63 yards on 24 carries against a Louisville team that came into the right with the No. 1 defense in the ACC. Louisville came into the game 1-8 against teams ranked Nos. 1 or 2 in the AP poll. The win was over then-No. 2 Florida State, a 63-20 romp in 2016. And on the road, there had never been a night like this for the Cardinals. They were 0-18 against Top 10 teams in true road games before Friday. Most of them weren't even close: Louisville dropped those games by an average - an average - of 26.3 p oints. Miami got to 14-10 at the half and trailed 17-13 going into the fourth, but Moss' 36-yard scoring grab with 13:27 remaining gave the Cardinals a two-score lead again. Beck - who threw two interceptions in the first half - had another picked off on the ensuing drive with 7:50 remaining, but Miami got the ball right back on a fumble. Malachi Toney scored on a 12-yard run one play after the fumble, then threw a 2-point conversion pass himself and Miami was right back in it - down 24-21. But the Hurr icanes got no closer. - Louisville/AP College Football

MIDSEASON AP SEC BIGGEST INJURY: Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy was an AP preseason first-team All-America pick but has yet to take the field as he continues to recover from an ACL injury in January. "He's got more to go," Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said last week. "You look at the position he plays, all the reactionary work that you have to have in so your always balancing his ability to be prepared and short-term, long-term health as well." - AP College Football

Joey Aguilar stayed on the ground after a long run and the Tennessee fans held their breath until he sat up. Then they started chanting "Joey! Joey!" The quarterback who came through the transfer portal from Appalachian State via a short detour to UCLA h as been everything they could have wanted. Aguilar quickly picked up the offense, which is humming at coach Josh Heupel's up-tempo pace as the No. 11 Vols go into Saturday's showdown at sixth-ranked Alabama. Heupel, who won a national title and was runne r-up for the Heisman Trophy playing quarterback for Oklahoma in 2000, said Wednesday that Aguilar came in humble and ready to compete and worked to earn the trust of his new teammates after arriving in mid-May. Aguilar's experience helped. "He's handled it at a really high level," Heupel said. "Certainly, a lot more comfortable than when we first started." Heupel likes Aguilar's work ethic, aggressiveness and how the quarterback remains even-keeled from series to series."What I love about him, wh ether it's a good play, bad play, good series, bad series - same demeanor coming off on the sideline," Heupel said. Aguilar threw for 221 yards and a touchdown and ran for 59 yards in last week's 34-31 win over Arkansas. But it was the way he ran that ha d Heupel and more than 100,000 fans on the edge of their seats. On one run, Aguilar crashed into the communication system on the Razorbacks' sideline, cutting off headset communications for the rest of the game. Late in the game, Aguilar finished a 28-ya rd sprint up the middle of the field and came down with the football stuck in his midsection. "That ball was deep in my stomach," said Aguilar, who was able to smile recalling the moment an hour later. "That took the air out of me, for sure." Heupel appr eciated the run to help seal the win: "I want him to get down once the play is over." Aguilar is off to a strong start. He has completed 64.8% of his passes (118 of 182) for 1,680 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has been intercepted five times, an area of co ncern coming into the season after he was picked off 14 times last season. He also has run for 117 yards and two more scores. He ranks 12th in the country averaging 280 yards passing per game, just ahead of Alabama's Ty Simpson (279.67). Tennessee also l eads the nation in scoring with 48.2 points a game. - AP College Football

Garrett Nussmeier passed for two touchdowns, LSU's defense contained South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers, and the 11th-ranked Tigers overcame three turnovers to defeat the Gamecocks 20-10 on Saturday night. The victory arguably should have been easier for LSU (5-1, 2-1 SEC), which twice lost the ball right at the South Carolina goal line. The first of Nussmeier's two interceptions also occurred on the Gamecocks' side of the field. Tight end Trey'Dez Green helped the Tigers overcome the mistakes by catchin g eight passes for 119 yards and a touchdown. Kyle Parker had five catches for 75 yards, highlighted by his 43-yard score on which he snagged a short slant pass in stride and ran away from everyone. LSU also rushed for a season-high 168 yards, led by Cad en Durham's 70 yards on 15 carries. Damian Ramos' second field goal of the game all but sealed it with 1:46 left, capping a drive that started after LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane had broken up Sellers' fourth-down pass with 5:43 left.Sellers passe d for 124 yards, took five sacks and was intercepted once. He drove South Carolina (3-3, 1-3) into LSU territory six times, but four of those possessions produced no points. The first ended with a missed field goal, two ended with punts and the last with a turnover on downs. LSU was on the brink of taking a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter as running back Ju'Juan Johnson fought through tacklers to try to reach the goal line. But defensive tackle Monkell Goodwine dislodged the ball and edge rusher B ryan Thomas Jr. recovered in the end zone. Three plays later Matt Fuller, who entered the game with 71 yards rushing this season, broke loose for a 72-yard touchdown run to give the Gamecocks a 7-3 lead. The Tigers responded quickly, driving 72 yards in six plays for Green's leaping 6-yard touchdown catch on a fade pass. - AP College Football
