  WEEK 7 FCS NATIONAL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Mitchell Summers, Sacred Heart, RB, Fr., 5-7, 155,...Summers carried the ball 18 times for 243 yards and two touchdowns to power Sacred Heart (5-2) past Howard 32-14. He averaged 13.5 yards per carry in the Pioneers' fourth-highest single-game performance, and it included an 80-yard score on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter. The true freshman has surpassed 100 rushing yards three times this season.   Mitchell Summers rushed for a career high of 250 yards and two touchdowns, and Matt Kling made three field goals to lead Sacred Heart to a 32-14 comeback win over Howard on Saturday. Howard (3-3) took the lead with a pair of rushing touchdowns near the end of the first and second quarters, taking a 14-0 lead after a 14-yard Tyriq Starks run with 2:05 remaining in the half. Summers, a true freshman, took off for an 80-yard touchdown on the first offensive play of the second half, eclipsing his early career high of 119 yards. He added a second touchdown with 3:26 remaining in the game.

Starks (11-of-21 passing for 80 yards) was sacked for a safety by Peter Schanne with 3:04 remaining. Kling tallied the Pioneers' first points with a 49-yard field goal, then added 19- and 25-yard chip shots in the second half. Sacred Heart (5-2) extended to a two-possession lead with 7:36 left in the fourth quarter. Payton Rhoades made a leaping touchdown catch from Jack Snyder. Snyder was 11 of 18 for 147 yards passing.   Mitchell Summers ran for 119 yards, Jack Snyder scored two touchdowns on the ground, and Sacred Heart held off Norfolk State 31-28 on Saturday night. Snyder's 7-yard touchdown run gave the Pioneers a 31-21 lead with 5 1/2 minutes left. Norfolk State then drove 74 yards in a minute and a half, scoring on a 29-yard pass from Otto Kuhns to DreSean Kendrick. Up 31-28, Sacred Heart reached the Norfolk State 41 before punting. Kuhns then led the Spartans on a 56-yard drive that stalled at the Sacred Heart 24 before Evan Helfrich missed a 42-yard field goal.

The Pioneers (3-1) had 295 yards rushing and Snyder attempted only 10 passes, completing eight for 92 yards. Kuhns threw for 340 yards, completing 27 passes in 41 attempts. JJ Evans and Kam'Ryn Thomas both went over 100 yards receiving and the Spartans added 210 yards rushing. Norfolk State (1-3) had the edge in total yards 550-390. - AP College Football

  Matt Kling kicked a 21-yard field goal as time ran out and Sacred Heart rallied from a 14-point deficit to beat Long Island University 24-21 on Saturday. Jack Snyder connected with Payton Rhoades on a 42-yard gain to the 10-yard line with a minute to go and three rushing plays set up the game-winning kick. The Pioneers (2-1) trailed 21-7 after the Sharks' Jaylin Lucas recovered a muffed line-drive punt that went off the receiver's fingertips and into the end zone early in the third quarter. The Pioneers cut the lead to seven on John Michalski's 3-yard run to cap a 12-play, 75-yard drive late in the third and tied the game on Curtis Whiting's 5-yard run after the Sharks (1-2) muffed a punt with 12 minutes remaining.

Long Island scored in the first and last minute of the opening half for a 14-7 lead. Luca Stanzani scored on a 75-yard run on the game's first play from scrimmage. O'Shawn Ross scored on a 1-yard run with 56 seconds left in the half. Sacred Heart's first-half TD came on Mitchell Summers' 14-yard run late in the second quarter. Snyder threw for 193 yards but was intercepted twice while Summers rushed for 105 yards on 24 carries. Stanzani rushed for 87 yards and a TD for the Sharks, who passed for just 19 yards. LIU was coming off a 28-23 win over Eastern Michigan, its first-ever victory over an FBS school. - AP College Football
