Harrison Waylee rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns, including a school-record 97-yarder, as Virginia rolled up a program-record 700 yards offense and blew out visiting William & Mary 55-16 on Saturday. Of Virginia's 700 yards, 379 came on the grou nd. UVA totaled 691 yards against Davidson in a 1968 meeting for the old record. UVA quarterback Chandler Morris went 13 of 19 for 149 yards and a 3-yard touchdown pass to backup tight end John Rogers with six minutes to play in the second quarter. That score put the Cavaliers ahead 35-7 and was the last one Morris would throw. Virginia played the second half almost entirely with backups.William & Mary quarterback Noah Brannock threw for 111 yards and ran for another 35 and a touchdown. The Tribe scored their first points on a 79-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Hughes to Deven Thompson in the second quarter. They nearly had another long score in the third, but Noah Brannock's 39-yard pass into the end zone was dropped by a wide-open Isaiah Lemmon d. William & Mary punter Carter Boyd pinned Virginia at its own 3-yard line on the next snap. But on the following play, Waylee, a transfer from Wyoming, picked his way through the right side of the offensive line, then burst up the Tribe's sideline unto uched for the record-setting run and TD. - Virginia/AP College Football

The 2020 football season was never going to be normal, so if NIU was ever going to go winless, the Huskies sure picked the right season in which to do it. Not that an 0-6 season is in the books, as the Huskies still have a game against a 1-4 Eastern Mich igan team on the road next week. Of course, that's the same Eagles team that just handed Western Michigan its first loss of the year. But the Huskies have shown flashes all year. On Saturday in a 41-24 loss to Toledo, Harrison Waylee was the latest to sh ow a positive glimpse into the future. The true freshman ran for 114 yards and found the end zone for the first time in his collegiate career. NIU coach Thomas Hammock said he saw a big game from Waylee coming."I told the offensive staff, this guy is about to take off," Hammock said. "I saw it in practice, and I said there's normally a moment you see with a back where it clicks for him. And I think it clicked for him. He's going to be a special player. It's hard to describe...He's going to be a p roblem in this conference." Waylee said he was aiming for a big contest throughout practice. "The week of practice, all I was thinking was I've got to get better," Waylee said. "I've got to improve on top of that. I practiced really well. I gave a lot du ring practice and just had to make it show on the field." - DeKalb Daily Chronicle
