Trejan Bridges, Central Arkansas, Player News

Trejan Bridges and Seth McGowan are no longer on OU's football team, Sooners coach Lincoln Riley confirmed Thursday. "They're not members of the program anymore and we wish them the very best going forward," Riley said. Bridges' apartment was searched as part of an investigation into an alleged armed robbery after a 911 caller reported Bridges and McGowan had robbed him of marijuana at the caller's Norman apartment April 15. Police found a .45-caliber Glock handgun and "a bag of green substance appearing to be marijuana" during the search. No charges have been filed against either Bridges or McGowan and both Bridges and McGowan have denied the accusations through their attorneys. Bridges and McGowan were suspended indefinitely shortly after the alleged incident. Neither participated in the Sooners' spring game April 24. - Daily Oklahoman

Police searched University of Oklahoma wide receiver Trejan Bridges' apartment while investigating an alleged armed robbery and reported finding a .45-caliber Glock handgun and "a bag of green substance appearing to be marijuana." Police also reported finding a large clear baggie of the green substance in a car he was driving. Police conducted the searches after a 911 caller reported Bridges, running back Seth McGowan and another male robbed him of marijuana at his Norman apartment the night of April 15.

No charges have been filed and police are still investigating. Both Bridges, 20, and McGowan, 19, deny the accusations. The victim said Bridges pointed a handgun at him and threatened to kill him during the robbery, a police detective told a judge in requests to do the searches. The victim also said he was beaten. Police questioned Bridges later that night and he stated he "had nothing to do with this incident," the detective reported. OU suspended Bridges and McGowan in April, according to multiple media reports, although the university did not identify the athletes. - Daily Oklahoman

A Norman apartment complex has terminated its housing agreement with Trejan Bridges, an Oklahoma sophomore receiver, according to an affidavit filed in Cleveland County district court on Monday. The Cottages of Norman has provided notice to vacate to Bridges, which stated a search warrant was executed at his housing unit on April 16 and police seized property "in connection with [Bridges'] involvement in an assault and robbery" in the letter. The apartment complex alleges Bridges' possession and use of a firearm, his breach of his housing agreement that requires residents to comply with applicable laws and ordinances, including theft, and not to endanger the housing community as reasons for his eviction.

In a petition for forcible entry and detainer, the apartment complex's legal counsel claims that "criminal charges against Bridges are forthcoming" based on its findings. The Cottages of Norman has retained Oklahoma City attorney Ashley M. Schovanec of Phillips Murrah P.C., according to the court document. Bridges has been linked to an ongoing robbery investigation in Norman, with his name stated in archived police scanner audio the night of April 15. - Norman Transcript

Waking up early for practice finally excites OU receiver Trejan Bridges. He admitted that hasn't always been the case. His long road from receiving a suspension ahead of the 2019 Peach Bowl to being reinstated ahead of the 2020 Big 12 championship game has offered a new perspective to the rising junior. "It was an obstacle," said Bridges, who was suspended for failing a drug test. "I've had multiple obstacles that I have had to face. It was a long learning experience. I learned a lot through just watching and helping my team. It was like I had to take what I learned and take the negative and turn it into a positive." Former OU defensive end Ronnie Perkins and running back Rhamondre Stevenson were suspended for the same reason. The trio relied on each other, as well as the support of family and coaches, to get through the difficult time. The former five-star receiver has been relieved of the stress his situation presented and is looking to parlay the work he put in during his suspension, which spanned 10 games, into a breakout 2021 season. - Norman Transcript
