  SEPT 26 WAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rodrick Ward, R-Jr., S, Southern Utah (Sept. 26),...Ward, a redshirt junior safety, secured two key takeaways for the Southern Utah defense late in the second half of a 31-17 homecoming victory against rival Utah Tech on Sept. 24. Ward finished the game with six tackles and a pair of fourth-quarter interceptions to preserve the lead in the final period and help deliver the Thunderbirds their first conference win as a member of the WAC. - WAC Football
