SEPT 30 SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Thurlow Wilkins, Tusculum,...Wilkins, a freshman from Avon Park, Fla., set a Tusculum single-game record for kick-off return yards with 191 against Newberry last week. Wilkins broke the previous record of 189 yards, which had stood since 2003. Included in his 191 yards was a 93-yard kick-off return for a touchdown to start the second half, the seventh longest return in Tusculum history. He also added 13 rushing yards, finishing the day with 204 all-purpose yards and a touchdown. This is Wilkins' first special teams player of the week honor. - South Atlantic Conference Football
