North Texas picked up a commitment from Georgia transfer wide receiver Tommy Bush on Saturday night. Tommy Bush was once one of the top prospects in the country when it came to high school wide receivers. The former Schertz Clements standout will try to capitalize on that potential at North Texas. Bush announced his decision to return to his home state and play for the Mean Green on Saturday night. He spent the first three years of his college career at Georgia and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining at UNT. Bush announced his decision on his Twitter account, where he thanked the Georgia coaching staff and his former teammates before saying that he would continue his career at UNT. Bush is one of more highly regarded players to transfer to UNT in recent years. He was considered one of the top 200 prospects in the country when he signed with Georgia in 2018. - Denton Record

Kirby Smart's news conference Monday contained a serious and surprising injury update. Redshirt sophomore receiver Tommy Bush was involved in some sort of weekend car accident. Rivals reported that Bush was struck by a car on Saturday night while crossin g a street in Athens. "Thankfully, he's safe," Smart said Monday. "He's got a little bit of a concussion and he's got some injuries, but we're thankful he's OK. It was a dangerous situation, so glad he's OK." Smart didn't confirm details of the incident, calling it a "minor accident." Bush has been in a reserve role for his career in Athens. He has one reception in his career, with none so far in 2020. - Macon Telegraph
