Toledo has its quarterback. Rockets coach Jason Candle announced Monday that fourth-year sophomore Carter Bradley will start against Norfolk State on Saturday at the Glass Bowl. "Carter Bradley will start at quarterback Saturday night," Candle said. "You will see some Dequan Finn also Saturday night. Carter's had a very good camp. I think Dequan has had a very good camp, as well. Both guys deserve to play, and that's how we will approach it. "But I don't think in Carter's case or DQ's case that this is an ongoing competition, and I don't think if you make a bad play that you need to look over your shoulder that you're going to come out of the football game on the next snap. Both of them bring a little bit something different to the table, and that's ho w we will approach this first game." Bradley has started three games for the Rockets, completing 58 of 120 pass attempts for 708 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions. During the shortened 2020 season, he threw for a career-high 432 yards against Central Michigan, the most by a Mid-American Conference QB all year, and ranked third in the conference in passing efficiency (164.1). - Toledo Blade
