  11/19/22 - RB Kenny McIntoshSr/2023, Georgia, 6-0, 216 (DS#12 RB) + More +

Kenny McIntosh rushed for a career-best 143 yards, including a crucial 9-yard score late in the third quarter, and top-ranked Georgia withstood Kentucky's fourth-quarter rally Saturday for a 16-6 win and its second consecutive unbeaten season in the Southeastern Conference. The Bulldogs (11-0, 8-0 SEC, No. 1 CFP) clinched the Eastern Division title last week and sought another perfect finish in league play. They succeeded but not without difficulty, settling for three Jack Podlesny field goals before McIntosh's TD provided a needed cushion.

Georgia's chance to pad the lead ended on downs at Kentucky's 1. The Wildcats to made it interesting with a 99-yard drive that ended with Will Levis' 8-yard touchdown pass to Barion Brown. Levis' two-point conversion pass failed, and the chance to make it a one-score game died when Matt Ruffalo's field goal hooked left. Kentucky (6-5, 3-5) then turned it over on downs and lost for the fifth time in seven games. McIntosh rushed 19 times with a 26-yarder for the Bulldogs, who outgained Kentucky 365-297. Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett completed 13 of 19 for 116 yards with an interception. Levis completed 20 of 31 for 206 yards with an interception for Kentucky. - Georgia/AP College Football

  10/29/22 - RB Kenny McIntoshSr/2023, Georgia, 6-0, 216 (DS#12 RB) + More +

Daijun Edwards and Kenny McIntosh ran for two touchdowns each, and No. 1 Georgia pulled away from Florida following a second-half scare to win 42-20 Saturday night in the rivalry dubbed "the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party." The defending national champion Bulldogs (8-0, 5-0 Southeastern Conference) looked to be in trouble when the Gators (4-4, 1-4) scored the first 17 points of the third quarter and turned a 28-3 deficit into a one-score game. But the Dawgs answered with consecutive touchdown drives to seal their 10th consecutive victory. Georgia beat Florida for the fifth time in six years. Edwards finished with 106 yards rushing. McIntosh added 90 on the ground. Stetson Bennett completed 19 of 38 passes for 316 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Tight end Brock Bowers caught five passes for a career-high 154 yards, including a 73-yard score in which he hauled in a ball that tipped off linebacker Amari Burney.

Burney's luck turned in the second half when he forced a fumble that led to a field goal and then picked off a pass that set up Anthony Richardson's 78-yard TD pass to Xzavier Henderson. Little else went the Gators' way. Georgia finished with 555 total yards against Florida's beleaguered defense and was 2-for-3 converting fourth-down plays. Richardson threw for 271 yards and a touchdown for the Gators, who have lost 12 of their last 15 SEC games. Nearly half of Richardson's passing yards came on plays of 78 and 41 yards. Freshman Trevor Etienne ran for 53 yards and a score. Georgia surely will celebrate this one after a day of mourning. Legendary coach Vince Dooley died Friday. Dooley dominated the Georgia-Florida series during his coaching career, going 17-7-1 against the Gators. The most famous victory came in 1980, when Lindsay Scott hauled in a 93-yard touchdown pass from Buck Belue in the closing minute. The improbable 26-21 triumph propelled Georgia to a perfect season and their first consensus national title. - AP College Football

Former Georgia linebacker Rennie Curran, who attended the scrimmage, called Kenny McIntosh a "beast" on Twitter on Sunday. "He had a great run, but to be honest he's a great blocker too," coach Kirby Smart said. "Kenny has had a great camp. He's picked up pressures, played really physical, caught the ball out of the backfield. Everything that he wants to do at the next level in our offense, we have asked him to do, and he's done a great job at that." With Kendall Milton missing time with a minor hamstring injury, McIntosh has even more chance to shine. Georgia's top rusher from last season worked behind Zamir White and James Cook, now in the NFL. "He can do everything," running backs coach Dell McGee said. "He can run inside tackles, he can run outside tackles, he's really good on the perimeter. He has really, really good hands. Probably some of the best hands since DeAndre (Swift)." McIntosh, working with Kearis Jackson on kickoff return, is being asked to mantain his weight. He's listed at 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds. "He's definitely going to be an integral part of our offense and he will be relied upon heavily," McGee said. - Athens Daily Banner

Georgia running back Kenny McIntosh's reckless driving charge from an April crash was dismissed after he pleaded guilty instead to speeding and a seat belt violation, according to Athens-Clarke County Solicitor General C.R.Chisholm. McIntosh's Dodge Challenger struck a Kia Sol at the intersection of South Milledge Drive and Pineview Drive in Athens after 4 a.m. on April 24 while going about 60 miles per hour in 40 mile per hour zone, Athens-Clarke County police said. The woman driving the Kia was transported to a hospital after complaining of leg and chest pain and losing consciousness for a time.

McIntosh entered his pleas on May 31 in Municipal Court and received six months of probation. He must also complete a defensive driving school and traffic violators impact panel, "a diversion program designed to educate young drivers on the consequences of decisions and choices made while in a car," according to its website. The junior from Pompano Beach, Fla, was fined a total of $685 for the two misdemeanor charges. - Athens Daily Banner
