2022 ALL-OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM: QB - Cade Brister, Lindenwood,...Brister threw for 3,065 yards and 27 touchdowns, while adding 606 yards on the ground with 11 scores. Brister capped off his career as the school's leader in passing yards, pass ing touchdowns, and total offense. The O'Fallon, Mo. native holds nearly every passing record, and is the only player in program history to pass for over 10,000 yards in a Lindenwood uniform. Cade Brister threw for three touchdowns and ran for three more and Lindenwood defeated Division II-member McKendree 63-35 on Saturday. The Lions (7-3) had 631 total yards, with Brister passing for 269 on 24 completions in 31 attempts and rushing for 135 on 15 carries. Andrew Martin led on the ground with 152 yards on 13 carries and scoring twice. The Lions had 362 yards rushing. Payton Rose had 10 receptions for 131 yards and caught all three of Brister's TD tosses. McKendree had 474 yards on offense. NOV 7 OHIO VALLEY CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Cade Brister, QB, 6-1, 222, Sr., O'Fallon, Mo., Lindenwood,...Brister tallied 352 yards of total offense and five touchdowns as Lindenwood came up one point short at Tennessee Tech. The senior registered his seventh 300-yard passing game of the season in completing 24-of-33 passes for 303 yards and five touchdowns (37, 29, 40, 23 and 10 yards). Despite facing constant pressure from the TTU defense, Brister managed 49 net rushing yards on 27 rushes. He c ompleted passes to nine different receivers. At the end of the game Brister led the Lions on an 18-play, 75-yard drive that ended with a touchdown to pull the team within one point (the ensuing two-point conversion was no good). Cade Brister threw four touchdowns and backup quarterback Cole Dugger threw three and Lindenwood beat Division II-level William Jewel 64-23 on Saturday. Brister was 21-for-30 passing for 326 yards and Dugger went 5 of 6 for 119 yards. Payton Rose hauled in 200 of the quarterback duo's combined 445 yards passing on nine receptions with three touchdowns. The Cardinals fought back, overcoming a 26-3 deficit and scored three touchdowns in the final 10:43 of the second quarter. Cade Brister threw three touchdown passes, Darion Bolden returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown and Lindenwood rallied from an early deficit to defeat Murray State 33-18 on Saturday. Murray State took a 12-0 lead on two short touchdown runs by Lucas Maue, but the Racers would not score another touchdown. Brister led Lindenwood's rally with touchdown passes of 39 yards to Kobe Smith and 27 yards to Payton Rose, then Logan Seibert booted a 45-yard field goal for a 17-15 lead at halftime. Late i n the third quarter, Bolden's pick-6 gave the Lions the lead for good, 24-18. Lindenwood added another Brister-to-Smith touchdown pass and a Seibert field goal in the fourth quarter. Brister finished 16-of-26 passing for 242 yards and led Lindenwood with 61 yards rushing. Rose had three catches for 111 yards for the Lions (5-2, 2-2 Ohio Valley Conference). OCT 17 OVC FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Cade Brister, QB, 6-0, 222, Sr., O'Fallon, Mo., Lindenwood,...Brister accounted for 381 yards of total offense and four touchdowns, including two in overtime, as Lindenwood topped Eastern Illinois 37-34 i n double overtime in a game that counted as non-conference contest. Brister completed 28-of-42 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns and carried the ball 27 times for 79 yards and a touchdown as Lindenwood improved to 4-2 on the season (with three of the wins coming on the road in its first season of Division I). Brister threw a 20-yard touchdown pass just before halftime to give the Lions a 14-10 advantage. His 1-yard touchdown run with 3:09 to play in regulation tied the game at 24. On the first p ossession of overtime he tossed a 2-yard touchdown, and on the second possession, he connected with Kobe Smith for a nine-yard score to win the game. It marked his fifth 300-yard passing game of the season. Brister leads the OVC in total offense (367.7 y ards/game), passing offense (320.8 yards/game) and points responsible for (19.0/game). Cade Brister hit Kobe Smith from 8 yards out in overtime to earn new Ohio Valley Conference member Lindenwood its first OVC victory, a 37-34 win over Eastern Illinois on Saturday. Brister scored from a yard out with 3:09 left in regulation to tie the gam e at 24-24 and force overtime, and hit Payton Rose with a 2-yard touchdown pass on the first possession of overtime. Jonah O'Brien answered with a 1-yard run, and on the first possession of the second round of overtime the Panthers kicked a 22-yard field goal. Brister completed 28 of 42 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns, but was picked off twice. He added 79 yards and a score on 27 carries. The senior completed 26-of-40 passes for 413 yards and two touchdowns and carried the ball 20 times for 62 yards and five touchdowns (which tied the school record he had previously set). He threw a 15-yard touchdown pass in the fi rst quarter and added a 14-yarder late in the second frame. On the ground he scored from 6, 1, 1, 1 and 1 yards, with his last score coming with 5:09 to play in the third quarter and giving the Lions a 49-42 advantage. Brister found nine different receiv ers in the game, as three different receivers hauled in five or more catches. Cade Brister accounted for seven touchdowns, Logan Seibert's 36-yard field goal was the only score in the fourth quarter, and Lindenwood beat Central Arkansas 52-49 on Saturday night. Seibert's game-winning kick came with 9:47 remaining in the game. Cent ral Arkansas drove 71 yards in 13 plays to the Lindenwood 28 during its last possession, but the drive stalled with an incomplete pass on fourth-and-10. Cade Brister was 26-of-49 passing for 413 yards with a pair of touchdown passes and added 62 yards on the ground and five scoring runs. The Lions (2-0) were coming off a 21-20 victory over Houston Baptist in their first game as a Division I program. Payton Rose made seven catches for 180 yards and a touchdown and Kobe Smith added 111 yards receiving and two scores for Lindenwood. Andrew Martin and Justin Williams each had a rushing touchdown. The Fort Zumwalt North product has thrown for nearly 8,000 yards and 70 touchdown in his career, while adding more than 1,400 yards and 20 scores on the ground. After winning the 2019 GLVC Offensive Player of the Y ear award, Brister was on track to have another successful season in 2021, before his year came to an end in week seven. Brister led the team in passing with 1,572 yards and 10 touchdowns on 138-for-195 passing, as he landed on the GLVC second team. The Lindenwood football team (9-3) upset No. 5 Ouachita Baptist (11-1) in the first round of the playoffs by a final score of 41-38 on Saturday in Arkadelphia, Ark. On a third down, the Tigers connected on a 47-yard touchdown pass to take a 35-31 lead wi th 12:25 to go in the game. Spencer Redd made one of the biggest plays of the game on the ensuing kickoff. After being surrounded by multiple Tigers, Redd escaped the tacklers and took the ball 97-yards to the house to put the Lions up 38-35.Ouac hita Baptist marched down the field and had a first-and-goal at the six-yard line, but the Lions did not break. The Tigers were forced to kick a field goal with 6:02 in the game, leading to a 38-38 tie. Brister and the Lions put together a long drive th at was kept alive with a key third-down snag by Henneman. Garner broke the tie with a clutch 30-yard field goal to make it a 41-38 lead with 1:24 remaining. On the second play of the ensuing drive, Jordan Perry made a great play on the ball to grab the game-winning interception, giving the Lions the 41-38 victory.
