SEP 12 NEC PRIME PERFORMER: Jahlil Brown, CCSU (CB, Sr.),...Brown stood tall in Central Connecticut's NEC debut against two-time defending champion Sacred Heart on Saturday, compiling 10 tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss. The senior had two fumble recoveries in the contest, the first of which gave the Blue Devils a third-quarter lead while the second leading to Central Connecticut's final possession of the game, a nine-play, 42-yard drive that ended in a Pioneers' touchback. - NEC Football

NOV 18 NEC DEFENSIVE CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK: JAHLIL BROWN, CENTRAL CONNECTICUT, CB, So., 6-0, 190 lbs., Baltimore, MD/St. Frances Academy, WEEK 12 Stats: 7 total tackles, INT, FR Return TD, Pass break-up,...Brown, who totaled seven tackles, made multiple contributions to a tide-turning stretch that featured 21 unanswered third-quarter points in Central Connecticut's title-clinching triumph over Robert Morris. The second-year Blue Devil made an interception on the first snap of the second half, setting th e CCSU offense up with a 1st-and-10 at the RMU 36-yard line. Brown reached paydirt during the final minute of the third quarter, recovering a fumble on a 3rd-and-1 play and taking it 25 yards to bump CCSU's lead to 35-14.
