Cord Sandberg, Eastern Kentucky, Player News

Former Auburn quarterback Cord Sandberg will finish his college career at the FCS level. Sandberg, who last month entered the transfer portal, announced Thursday he will be transferring to Eastern Kentucky. The 26-year-old former minor league baseball player spent the last three seasons as a reserve quarterback for Auburn, joining the program in 2018 after a five-year career in the Philadelphia Phillies' farm system. At Auburn, Sandberg appeared in just four games over the last three seasons and completed 7-of-9 pass attempts for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns -- both of them coming in 2019 against Samford -- while adding another 70 rushing yards on 10 carries. - Birmingham News
