2021 FIRST TEAM ALL-IVY LEAGUE (COACHES): EJ Perry, Brown (Sr., QB - Andover, Mass.),...Perry earns his second straight First Team recognition after another historic campaign in 2021. He finished the year second all-time at Brown for single-season pass c ompletions (295) and total offense (3,435), third in completion percentage (.664) and fifth in passing yards (3.033). His 295 pass completions this season were the second-most in Ivy League history, just 14 behind head coach James Perry's Ivy League reco rd total from 1999. His 3,435 total yards of offense was also third-most in any season in Ivy League history, giving him two of the top three spots on the total offense list in league history. EJ Perry threw four touchdowns and his 30-yard scoring pass to a leaping Graham Walker with 29 seconds left sent Brown to a 49-45 win over Cornell on Saturday. Brown (2-4, 1-2 Ivy League) ended a three-game losing streak against Cornell (1-5, 0-3) and ha s won two of its last three games following a three-game skid to start the season. The Bears scored three touchdowns in the final 7-1/2 minutes with Perry throwing a 19-yard pass to Hayes Sutton to end a 16-play, 80-yard drive for a 35-30 Brown lead. Cor nell took a 38-35 lead when Jameson Wang threw a 22-yard scoring pass to Curtis Raymond III with 4:17 left. The Bears responded with Jordan DeLucia's 56-yard touchdown run with 2:17 to go. The Big Red took their last lead when Richie Kenney threw a 25-ya rd score to Thomas Glover with 1:59 left. Perry overcame three interceptions to finish with 280 yards passing and 80 yards rushing with a score on the ground. Sutton caught three touchdown passes for Brown. EJ Perry ran for one touchdown and threw for two more, passing for 351 yards. and Brown walloped Colgate 31-10 on Saturday for its first win of the season. Perry completed 27 of 37 passes, including a 2-yard touchdown toss to offensive lineman Brooks Jon es, as the 290-pounder lined up as an eligible receiver for the Bears (1-3). The catch and the touchdown were both firsts for Jones. Perry also connected with Graham Walker from the 30 for a touchdown and scored himself on a keeper from the 1. Shane Prev ot scored Brown's first touchdown, returning a fumble 74 yards. It was Prevot's first career fumble recovery and touchdown. The Ivy League is expected to announce it will shift all fall sports, including football, to the spring, according to several reports. Brown has promoted Heather Marini to quarterbacks coach, making her the first female position coach in Division I football. A native of Australia, Marini spent last season as the team's offensive quality control assistant coach. She is the third woman on the staff in the last three years under head coach James Perry. "Promoting Heather to our quarterback coach makes us a stronger program and I know she will be a pioneer in the expanding roles women have in collegiate football," he said. In her new posit ion, Marini will work with EJ Perry, who led the nation for total offense in 2019, setting an Ivy League record and finishing as a finalist for the conference Player of the Year award. Prior to coaching at Brown, Marini worked with the New York Jets as a summer scouting specialist. EJ Perry threw for three touchdowns, ran for another and set the Brown single-season record for total offense in a 48-24 win over Columbia on Saturday, the Bears' first Ivy League win. Allen Smith had 113 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries, one going 70 yards for a score on fourth-and-1, which put the Bears on top 28-17 at halftime. Perry, who was 24 of 39 for 300 yards, had 334 yards of total offense, which pushed him pass the 3,196 yards piled up by head coach James Perry, who is EJ's uncle. Perry had touchdown passes of 49, 10 and 7 yards in a 21-point third quarter. He also scored on a 2-yard run. LJ Harriott had one of the touchdowns among his six catches for 117 yards. The Bears (2-7, 1-5) piled up 457 yards but started the scoring with a 38- yard scoop and score by Nick Messina. The Lions (3-6, 2-4) had 427 yards but had three turnovers and a punt blocked.
