  NOV 18 MISSOURI VALLEY OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: RB D.J. Davis, Southern Illinois, 5-8, 170, Sr., Pompano Beach, Fla. (American Heritage),...Davis rushed for a career-high 208 yards on 31 carries in SIU's 45-21 win over Western Illinois. He scored two touchdowns, averaged 6.7 yards per carry and had a long of 53. It marked the second time in his career that Davis has topped 200 rushing yards. He also had 201 yards against South Dakota State in 2018. Davis is one of only two Saluki players to rush for 200 yards in a game in the last 10 years, and he's only the second MVFC running back this year to eclipse 200 yards in a game. Southern piled up a season-high 388 rushing yards versus Western. - Missouri Valley Conference Football

  NOV 4 MISSOURI VALLEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: RB D.J. Davis, Southern Illinois,...Davis carried 22 times for 160 yards (7.3 avg.) in SIU's 23-14 win over Indiana State. It was a season-high for Davis and marked the 10th time in his last 18 games that the senior has recorded 100+ yards rushing. He also became only the third player in school history to surpass 5,000 yards of total offense. He is one of two active players in FCS with more than 5,000 yards and he passed the mark on a 48-yard carry during the second quarter. - Missouri Valley Conference Football

  SEPT 16/WEEK 3 MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: RB D.J. Davis, Southern Illinois,...Davis carried 23 times for 101 yards and a touchdown as SIU beat UT Martin, 28-14. Davis also had two catches for nine yards, and returned two kickoffs, giving him a total of 155 all-purpose yards. He moved into 3rd place all-time in career all purpose yards at Southern with 4,596, passing former national player-of-the-year Cornell Craig. It was the 8th 100-yard rushing game for Davis in his last 14 games. His 26-yard TD run in the third quarter was the go-ahead score for the Salukis, who overcame a 14-point deficit with 28 unanswered points. - Missouri Valley Conference Football

  2019 PRESEASON ALL-MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM: RB D.J. Davis, Southern Illinois,...In 2018, Davis led the MVFC and ranked 14th in the nation in all-purpose yards per game (140.3). He rushed for 1,118 yards - the most by a Saluki running back since Jewel Hampton in 2011 - and averaged 6.28 yards per carry. With another thousand-yard season, he would move into the top five all-time in school history.

"D.J. is our best all-around offensive player," said SIU head coach Nick Hill. "More than that, he is an outstanding kid, an outstanding worker. D.J. models the way for our program." Davis recorded six 100-yard rushing games, including a career-best 201 yards versus South Dakota State last year. He topped 100 yards in each of the first four games, including 172 on a season-high 35 carries versus SEMO. A multi-purpose threat, he caught 29 passes for 201 yards and caught at least two passes in 10 games. - Southern Illinois Football
