Ohio State football's switch to a single-high scheme in 2019 put Jordan Fuller in the spotlight. The senior safety responded, earning former co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley's praise as "the eraser" in the back of the Buckeyes' stifling defense. Full er will get his NFL shot with the Los Angeles Rams, which selected Fuller in the sixth round with the 199th overall pick. The 6-2, 205-pound Fuller finished no lower than third in tackles in each of his last three Ohio State seasons. In 2019 he collected 62 tackles (42 solos), two interceptions and four pass breakups. Fuller also developed a reputation for his intelligence and leadership. He was a three-time Academic All-American, an NFF Scholar-Athlete and a finalist for the William V. Ohio State football's Best In America defensive back branding tends to focus on the stars who walked the stage on the opening night of the NFL Draft. Teams have found recent value in the Buckeye secondary later in the draft as well. While Ohio State will have early round cornerbacks again when the NFL Draft begins on April 23, safety Jordan Fuller will attempt to follow that other path. The Philadelphia Eagles may not have expected much from Kurt Coleman after selecting him in the seventh round in 2010. A year later he was a full-time starter. His 2019 stint with Buffalo gave him 10 full years in the league. Nate Ebner's sixth-round selection by the New England Patriots was a unique case of a team investing in a special teams trooper. Yet Ebner is stil l going strong and recently signed a free agent deal with the New York Giants. Even Kendall Sheffield, who only lasted until the fourth round, started over half of the Atlanta Falcons' games last season.
