2019 ALL-IVY LEAGUE FIRST TEAM (COACHES): Harold Coles, Cornell (Sr., RB - Erie, Pa.),...Coles bumped up to the first team after capturing second team accolades as a running back last fall. He is ranked 25th nationally and second in the Ivy League in rus hing yards per game (92.4 ypg.) while averaging 5.94 yards per carry in nine contests. His yards per carry number sits 17th nationally and paces the Ancient Eight. Coles had four 100-yard rushing games, including three in Ivy contests. The senior tied a career high with 141 yards on 16 carries at Ivy League co-champion Yale and ran for a 74-yard touchdown to cap a 15-carry, 111-yard effort in the win over No. 12 Dartmouth, the league's other co-champ. The two-time first-team academic all-district pick p osted 122 yards on 21 carries with a pair of touchdowns in the season-ending 35-9 win over Columbia. He surpassed the 2,000-yard mark in the triumph over the Lions, graduating No. 8 on Cornell's career rushing list and finishing first in career yards per rush. - Cornell Football

Harold Coles rushed for 129 yards and two TDs, including a 58-yard run on Cornell's second play from scrimmage, and the Big Red defeated Columbia 35-9 on Saturday. Despite a sub-.500 record, Cornell (4-6, 3-4 Ivy League) achieved a couple of significant milestones this season. The win gave Cornell possession of the Empire State Bowl and, coupled with Princeton's victory over Penn, solidified the Big Red's first upper-division finish in the Ivy League standings since 2006. Coles has 2,065 career rushing yards and became the eighth player in school history to surpass 2,000 yards. Thomas Glover, Delonte Harrell and Richie Kenney also scored rushing touchdowns for the Big Red. Ty Lenhart threw a 10-yard scoring pass to Josh Wainwright for Columbia.s only t ouchdown. Lenhart completed 28 of 42 passes for 215 yards for the Lions (3-7, 2-5). Kenney was 17-of-26 passing for 244 yards for Cornell. - AP College Football

Richie Kenney threw for 267 yards and a touchdown, Harold Coles ran for 111 yards and a touchdown and Cornell stunned Dartmouth 20-17 on Saturday. Cornell (3-6, 2-4 Ivy League) snapped Dartmouth's 10-game winning streak. The Big Green hadn't suffered a d efeat since Nov. 3 last year when Princeton beat them 14-9. Down 17-12, Kenney threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Owen Peters, then ran in the 2-point conversion. The score ended an eight-play, 75-yard drive that last 2 1/2 minutes. Dartmouth turned it ov er on downs on the ensuing drive, and after Cornell went three-and-out, the Big Red forced a turnover when David Jones intercepted Derek Kyler to end the game. Yale (8-1, 5-1) dropped into a first-place tie with Dartmouth. The Big Green, however, beat Ya le 42-10 last month. Nickolas Null booted a 41-yard field goal that shaved the left upright with nine seconds on the clock as Cornell turned back a resurgent Brown 37-35 on Saturday for its first Ivy League win of the season. Cornell (2-4, 1-2) led 20-12 at the break, but Br own's Omari Garry scored from the 1 on the opening drive after halftime and the teams traded touchdowns the rest of the period. The Bears (1-5, 0-3) fashioned two unanswered scoring drives in the final period -- a 9-yard pass from EJ Perry to Demitri Jac kson and a 35-yard Dawson Goepferich field goal -- to grab a 35-34 lead with 4:17 remaining. Big Red held Brown on downs when Jake Watkins sacked Perry for a loss of 16 yards when the Bears were attempting to convert a fourth-and-6 at the 12. Harold Coles rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown, Mike Catanese ran for a pair of scores and Cornell's defense stopped Marist three times on fourth-down plays in the final period to win its season opener 21-7 Saturday. Cornell's rushing game dominated w ith 263 yards while holding the ball for 40 minutes. Big Red (1-0) held Marist (1-2) to two yards on the ground and held a 419-220 edge in total offense.After a Big Red fumble in the fourth, Marist drove 71 yards in nine plays to a first-and-goal at the five. Three plays later, Dazhon Miller took a handoff straight up the middle but was pushed backward by a wall of Cornell defenders on the fourth-and-1 play. Marist also failed to convert from fourth-and-3 at the 11 when Luke Strnad's pass fell in complete with 2:38 remaining and, early in the fourth, turned the ball over on fourth-and-9 after another incompletion.
