  Kevon Latulas had 100 rushing yards and scored a touchdown, Jacardia Wright added 85 yards and two touchdowns and Missouri State closed out its season with a 24-7 win over Indiana State on Saturday afternoon. The Bears were ranked as high as No. 4 in the FCS at one point in the season but stumbled to five straight losses. Missouri State (5-6, 3-5 Missouri Valley Football Conference) won three of its last four games.

This is the first season the Bears will not make the FCS playoffs in Bobby Petrino's three years as head coach. Wright, who scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter, scored from 5 yards out early in the fourth quarter to stake Missouri State to a 17-7 lead. Latulas punched in from the 1 with 4:21 left to set the final margin.   NOV 14 MISSOURI VALLEY PLATER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: QB Jason Shelley, Missouri State - In his final home game, senior Jason Shelley mounted his sixth fourth-quarter comeback victory for MSU, leading the Bears on a 92-yard game-winning TD drive in the final period against Youngstown State on Saturday. Shelley's 9-yard touchdown pass to Ty Scott capped the 13-play, drive that took just over four minutes and produced the seventh and final lead change of the senior day win. Shelley racked up 221 yards passing on the day. Shelley finished 19-of-37 with no interceptions -- his 7th game this season with no interceptions.   OCT 31 MISSOURI VALLEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: CB Jamal McMurrin, Missouri State - In his first career start, the former Washington State product posted his first career interception in Missouri State's historic homecoming win over Western Illinois on Saturday. McMurrin was instrumental in the Bears' breakthrough defensive performance that surrendered just 229 total yards on the day. McMurrin's second-quarter pick (and 29-yard return) set up a Bears touchdown two plays later and helped MSU take a 45-7 lead into the half. It was the most points the Bears have scored in an opening half since 1992.
