  WEEK 8 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: Julius Pierce, FIU – Gr. – C – Sanford, Fla.,...Pierce anchored the FIU offensive line, which helped the Panthers to a season-high 249 yards on the ground in a 25-6 road win over WKU. FIU averaged 6.4 yards per carry, and the offensive line allowed just one sack on the evening. In 73 snaps at center, he didn't allow a quarterback sack, hit, hurry or pressure, and was not penalized all night. Pierce registered the top PFF offensive grade of any lineman (63.3), including a pass block grade of 84.0. - Conference USA Football

  WEEK 8 CONFERENCE USA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jessiah McGrew, FIU – Fr. – S – Tallahassee, Fla.,...McGrew grabbed two interceptions in FIU's dominant 25-6 win over WKU, tying a school record with two picks in a game. It also marked the first multi-interception game by a freshman in program history. The true freshman already has three interceptions through the first six games of his collegiate career. McGrew returned his two picks for 39 yards, including a 31-yard return from his own two-yard line. He was part of a defensive unit that shut out the usually potent Hilltoppers in the second half and didn't surrender a touchdown the entire game. - Conference USA Football

  WEEK 8 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kejon Owens, FIU – Sr. – RB – Miami, Fla.,...Just three weeks after he set a career high with 173 yards in a Shula Bowl victory, Owens once again notched a career best performance with 195 yards in FIU's (3-3, 1-1 CUSA) 25-6 upset of previous league unbeaten WKU. He averaged 8.1 yards per carry on 22 totes and found the endzone once for his sixth touchdown of the season. Owens' 195 rushing yards are the most by a Panther in more than 20 years, dating back to the 2004 season. He also added two catches for seven yards to put him over the 200-yard mark for all-purpose yardage. On his first touch of the game, Owens went 84 yards from his own two-yard line for the longest rush of his career. - Conference USA Football

  Kejon Owens rushed for a career-high 195 yards and a touchdown, Jessiah McGrew made two interceptions and Florida International beat Western Kentucky 25-6 on Tuesday night to snap a 10-game road losing streak. The last road victory for FIU came on Oct. 18, 2023. The Panthers also ended a five-game losing streak in the series against WKU, with their first victory since 2018. Keyone Jenkins passed for 184 yards and a touchdown for FIU (3-3, 1-1 Conference USA). Alex Perry caught three passes for 86 yards.

Maverick McIvor threw three interceptions for WKU (5-2, 3-1) after entering with just two on the season. He was 20 of 31 for 159 yards. Marvis Parrish rushed for 74 yards. Noah Grant made his fourth field goal of the first half - from 51-yards out - to give FIU a 19-3 lead with 2:57 left. The 2025 Shula Bowl MVP averaged 9.1 yards per carry with a long of 47 yards, FIU's longest play from scrimmage this season.   WEEK 3 CONFERENCE USA FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Shamir Sterlin, FIU - R-Fr. - DB - Port St. Lucie, Fla.,...Sterlin tied for a team-high seven tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss in the win over FAU. On the Owls' first drive of the game, he made a diving interception on third down inside FIU territory. Sterlin was part of an FIU defense that did not surrender a touchdown in the second half of the 38-28 victory, while the secondary helped force three interceptions and four pass breakups on the night. - Conference USA Football

  Keyone Jenkins and Kejon Owens each ran for two touchdowns as Florida International rolled to a 41-9 win over Bethune-Cookman in a season opener for both teams on Friday night. The game started an hour and 15 minutes late due to a weather delay. Owens rushed for a 2-yard score in the first quarter and had 71 yards on 11 attempts. FIU scored 21 points in the second quarter, starting with a 16-yard run from Owens for his second touchdown. Jenkins had a 6-yard scramble for a score, and Devonte Lyons ran 35 yards for another to make it 28-3.

Jenkins scored again on a keeper and finished with three yards on five carries. He was 18 for 31 passing for 187 yards. Anthony Carrie scored in the fourth quarter for the Panthers, who tied a school record with six rushing touchdowns. It was FIU's first win over Bethune-Cookman after losing four straight. Juan Dominguez went 3-3 on field goals for Bethune-Cookman, connecting from 35, 22 and 28 yards out. Timmy McClain went 18 for 28 and had 164 yards for the Wildcats.   WEEK 2 CUSA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Keyone Jenkins, FIU - Sophomore - QB - Miami, Fla.,...Jenkins led the Panthers (1-1) to a 52-point scoring effort - the program's highest total since 2018 - with three total touchdowns and a two-point conversion in FIU's 52-16 win over Central Michigan. The victory was the inaugural game at newly branded Pitbull Stadium and marked the Panthers' fourth consecutive win in a home opener. The hometown hero completed 10-18 passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns while rushing five times for 42 yards and another score.   2023 ALL-BIG SOUTH-OVC FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION SECOND TEAM: DL - Giovanni Davis, Jr., UT Martin,...Davis garnered his first all-conference nod after disrupting opposing offenses all season from the outside linebacker position.   2022 OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE ALL-NEWCOMER TEAM: P - Trey Wilhoit, Eastern Illinois,...Wilhoit earned first team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors in his first season punting for the Panthers helping EIU produce some of the best special teams play in the FCS. Wilhoit averaged 44 yards per punt for the season which ranked fifth in the FCS and was the second best single season average in school history. Three times during the regular season Wilhoit was named the OVC Special Teams Player of the Week. He would have a total of 53 punts during the season with a long punt of 62 yards. He ended the season with 12 punts of 50 yards or more while 14 punts were pinned inside the 20-yard line.
