Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has not yet been ruled out for Saturday's game against Arkansas State, according to Ohio State football coach Ryan Day. In an appearance on Big Ten Network on Monday afternoon, Day said the team is "hoping to have him back this Saturday." Smith-Njigba missed much of the season-opening victory over Notre Dame after suffering an apparent leg injury on the Buckeyes' second offensive series. Day did not specify the nature of the Big Ten single-season receiving yardage record-holder's injury. A 24/7 Sports report Sunday night characterized it as a low-grade hamstring injury that might require multiple weeks' absence. Smith-Njigba managed only two receptions for 3 yards against Notre Dame. He attempted to return to the game after missing a few series, but shut it down for the night early in the third quarter. - Cleveland Plain Dealer
