  08/23/22 - CB Khyree JacksonrSr/2024, Oregon

Alabama football's cornerback injuries appear to be short term in nature. Khyree Jackson has been back practicing and took part in Saturday's scrimmage, coach Nick Saban said. Eli Ricks didn't participate in the scrimmage, but he was dressed in uniform and took part in warmups. Center Seth McLaughlin, who is in competition at center, also did not scrimmage Saturday, but Saban said "he will be back shortly." Jackson scrimmaged about two-thirds or three-quarters of the time, Saban estimated. Jackson, who has been dealing with a groin injury, was able to practice Thursday and Friday after he missed the first preseason scrimmage on Aug. 13. The scrimmage held at Bryant-Denny Stadium was closed to the general public and reporters. "He's making progress," Saban said. "I thought he did a nice job today when he was in there." Jackson is one of about four cornerbacks in competition for two starting spots. Jalyn Armour-Davis and Josh Jobe, last year's starters to begin the season , are both playing in the NFL. - Montgomery Advertiser
