  Before the Western Michigan football team took the field for its first full-pads practice of its 2019 fall camp Tuesday, the Broncos received some unfortunate injury news regarding two players expected to contribute this season.

Senior defensive tackle Wesley French and freshman wide receiver Damari Roberson will both miss the upcoming campaign with injuries. .

French, a 6-foot-5, 295-pound defensive tackle from St. Joseph, suffered the same foot injury that ended quarterback Jon Wassink's 2018 season, while Roberson, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound freshman from Muskegon, injured his right knee.
