  Draft Scout by Conference

The votes are in, and they say what was expected. South Carolina was picked next to last in the SEC East in the preseason media vote, one spot out of the cellar. Coach Shane Beamer's appearance at SEC Media Days was brilliant, much of the media crediting his passion and enthusiasm, but that may not translate his inherited roster into winners right away. The Gamecocks received one vote for SEC champion. Alabama was the consensus vote to win the SEC championship. Running back Kevin Harris was only awarded second-team All-SEC honors despite leading the conference in rushing last year, while edge rusher J.J. Enagbare was a first-team selection after tying for the league lead in sacks. Tight end Nick Muse made the third team. - The Post and Courier
