Justin Fields left in the second quarter of Ohio State football's game against Michigan State after taking a bad hit and might have given us a glimpse at the Buckeyes' QB future. The Buckeyes were always going to keep things as close as possible between Jack Miller and C.J. Stroud as true freshmen. The only way we'd get any indication of who might be leading a battle that will soon add 2021 commit Kyle McCord was if Fields had to leave a game. It was only for a single play -- a handoff to Master Teague -- but Stroud got the call over Miller and Gunnar Hoak, who's in his second season on the roster. Fields returned as OSU built a 28-0 halftime lead. It was Stroud's second snap as a Buckeye, following one play late in the win over Rutgers. Miller played six snaps in the season opener against Nebraska, scoring his first points in college football. - Cleveland Plain Dealer
