The Biletnikoff Award is given annually to the most outstanding wide receiver in college football. In 2012, Kiffin coached USC's Marqise Lee to the trophy. In 2014, Kiffin coached Alabama's Amari Cooper to the award. Kiffin sees Moore differently than his star receivers of yesteryear. "Elijah's quickness is different," Kiffin said. "He's smaller than those guys. But we've just never had somebody this quick. Those guys are more prototypical outside receivers. He's a slot. He looks a lot like [Carolina Panthers legend] Steve Smith." Moore erupted for 10 catches and 227 yards in Ole Miss' season-opening loss to Florida, his first game under Kiffin's tutelage.

After the game, Kiffin shared a bold prediction he made to Moore during their first meeting. He told Moore he was going to shatter Ole Miss' single-season receiving records. "I don't just want to be another name here," Moore said. "Everyone thinks that's OK. That's the world we live in. Everyone's like 'Oh, I'm at the school' or 'Oh I got here' and that's it. No. You want to leave here and people will be like 'Oh my God, Elijah Moore went here." Kiffin thinks of Moore like a great basketball player. If you have someone like LeBron James or Michael Jordan on your team, he touches the ball every possession. So why shouldn't Moore do the same for the Ole Miss offense? Anyway, wide receivers are underused. Kiffin laments about how silly it is that Julio Jones never caught more than 78 passes in a season at Alabama. If running backs can touch the ball 25 times a game, receivers can handle half that workload. - The Clarion Ledger
