While DeAngelo Malone has been solid to start the season (17 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack and a forced fumble), the Hilltoppers defense has not lived up to the preseason hype so far. Western Kentucky has struggled is against the run. The Hilltoppers have one of the worst rushing defenses in the country, ranking 68th overall and gives up an average of 249 yards per game. In their season-opener against Louisville, the Cardinals rushed for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns. That was nothing compared to what Liberty did a week later. The Flames had no issues against the Hilltoppers as they rushed for 354 yards and four touchdowns. Liberty quarterback Malik Willis led the attack with 168 yards and three touchdowns. - Daily News Journal
