  01/09/23 - QB Brady AllenrSo/2027, Louisville, 6-5, 220 (DS#999 QB) + More +

Brady Allen will stick around West Lafayette after all. Two weeks after announcing he'd enter the transfer portal following Purdue's coaching change from Jeff Brohm to Ryan Walters, the 2021 IndyStar Mr. Football winner has decided to stay at Purdue, a source confirmed to IndyStar. Purdue will need to replace the graduating Aidan O'Connell, who was second in the Big Ten with 3,490 passing yards this past season. The Boilermakers have already added Texas transfer Hudson Card to the quarterback competition.

Allen, a prep star at Gibson Southern, was a four-star quarterback and is expected to compete for Purdue's starter's job next season. He completed 1-of-3 passes for 8 yards this season with senior Austin Burton serving as the primary backup to O'Connell. Burton started in the Citrus Bowl loss to Iowa, with Michael Alaimo getting snaps in the blowout. - Indianapolis Star/News
