Micah Alejado threw three first-half touchdown passes to Jackson Harris on Saturday night to help Hawaii beat San Diego State 38-6. Alejado was 22-of-34 passing for 256 yards with an interception and Harris finished with 130 yards receiving on seven catc hes for Hawaii (7-3, 4-2 Mountain West Conference). The duo connected on TDs of 9, 34 and 35 yards before Kansei Matsuzawa capped a 16-play, 76-yard drive that took more than 7 1/2 minutes off the clock with a 22-yard field goal that made it 24-6 late in the second quarter.Matsuzawa has made each of his 22 field-goal attempts this season. Cam Barfield returned the opening kickoff of the second half 86 yards for a touchdown and Elijah Palmer had a 53-yard pick-6 that capped the scoring in the four th quarter. Gabriel Plascencia kicked field goals of 42 and 43 yards in the first half for San Diego State (7-2, 4-1). The Aztecs fell into a tie with Boise State atop the conference, a half-game ahead of third-place Hawaii. Micah Alejado threw three touchdown passes - two to Jackson Harris - and Cam Barfield scored a game-sealing 35-yard touchdown on fourth down to give Hawaii a 31-19 win over Colorado State on Saturday night. On a fourth-and-1 with 2:49 remaining, Barfield broke a would-be tackle by Jace Bellah to cap the scoring. The win guarantees Hawaii (6-2, 3-1 Mountain West Conference) will be bowl eligible for the first time under coach Timmy Chang.Alejado led the Rainbow Warriors to a 24-7 lead with 3:09 re maining in the third quarter. He found Harris twice for scores, highlighted by a 75-yard, one-play drive midway through the second quarter. Alejado was 26-of-38 passing with 301 yards. Harris had five catches for 109 yards. Nick Cenacle added seven catch es for 70 yards and scored the opening touchdown. Colorado State (2-5, 1-2) was limited to 106 total yards in the first half. The Hawaii defense finished with seven pass breakups, eight tackles for losses, six sacks - including on the Rams' final two pla ys - and a pair of forced fumbles. Micah Alejado threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score on Saturday night to help Hawaii beat Utah State 44-26 for the Rainbow Warriors' first win over the Aggies since 2010. Alejado was 34-of-54 passing for 413 yards and three touchdowns - all to Pofele Ashlock - and scored on a 15-yard run that gave Hawaii (5-2, 2-1 Mountain West Conference) a 34-26 lead with 11:55 to play. Ashlock finished with eight receptions for 113 yards and touchdowns of 18, 7 and 31 yards. Jackson Harris had 117 ya rds receiving on seven catches and Landon Sims had 10 carries for 82 yards and a TD.Bryson Barnes threw a 32-yard touchdown to Broc Lane that gave Utah State (3-3, 1-1) a 26-24 lead 59 seconds into the second half before the Rainbow Warriors score d the final 20 points. The Aggies had won eight straight- by an average of 26.4 points - against Hawaii. Kansei Matsuzawa made field goals of 46 and 36 yards in the second half. Micah Alejado threw for a season-high 457 yards and three touchdowns, Jackson Harris had seven receptions for 144 yards, and Hawaii took down Air Force, 44-35 on Saturday. The Rainbow Warriors (4-2, 1-1 Mountain West) took the lead for good with a 24-yar d scoring grab from Brandon White in the first quarter. The Falcons (1-3, 0-3) rallied back with three fourth-quarter touchdowns, but Hawaii answered each time. The teams scored a combined 41 points in the fourth quarter and 24 in the last six minutes. T hey scored within a minute of each other three times. Hawaii ran down the clock and Matsuzawa kicked a 25-yard field goal to go up by nine with 34 seconds left and effectively end the game. White had seven receptions for 50 yards, and ten Rainbow Warrior s had catches in the game. Liam Szarka was 10-for-12 passing with 278 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
