Junior quarterback Tyler Hughes threw for a career-high five touchdowns and William & Mary roared back from an early deficit to overwhelm Hampton 55-14 on Saturday. Hughes threw for 207 yards while completing 17-of-20 passes. His five touchdowns were one shy of tying the school record set by Shawn Knight against Maine in 1993. Still winless in Coastal Athletic Association play, Hampton went up 7-0 when Gracen Goldsmith ran it in from the 4 midway through the first quarter and from the 1 at the end of th e first for a 14-0 margin.On the Tribe's (7-4, 6-2) following drive, on the first play, Rashad Raymond broke free and ran it in from midfield. Hampton went three-and-out and on fourth down, William & Mary's Stephon Hicks gathered a blocked punt an d carried it in from the 2 to tie it at 14. In the second, Hughes threw a 54-yard score to Deven Thompson, a 20-yarder to Tariq Sims and a 7-yarder to Trey McDonald for a 35-14 lead. Tyler Hughes scored on a 6-yard run in overtime to lift William & Mary to a 30-27 win over Campbell on Saturday. It capped a wild finish for the Tribe, who trailed 21-13 with 3:19 left in regulation. William & Mary went 67 yards in four plays, scoring on a 2-yard run by Rashad Raymond with 1:51 to play. After Hughes' completion for the 2-point conversion to get within 24-21, the Tribe recovered the onside kick.Despite two penalties, the Tribe advanced to the Camels' 16 and then had a delay of gam e penalty before Keegan Shackford drilled a 38-yard tying field goal with a second to play. Campbell had a first down on the 8 in overtime, but couldn't reach the end zone and settled for a 23-yard Alex Crabb field goal. Hughes had a 19-yard run to start the William & Mary overtime possession and scored on the next snap for the win. Hughes was 24-of-36 passing for 263 yards and ran 21 times for 120 yards for the Tribe (6-4, 5-2 Coastal Athletic Association). Tyler Hughes threw for 245 yards and a touchdown, Rashad Raymond rushed for 76 yards and a score, and William & Mary blocked three punts for safeties in a 37-7 victory over Albany on Saturday to remain unbeaten at home. William & Mary had three touchdown s, two safeties and a field goal in the first half to build a 28-0 lead. Josh Miller and Jordan Greenhow each blocked a punt that went out of the end zone in the first half. Trevon Cannon also had a first-half interception, leading to Damian Harris' wide -receiver pass for a 16-yard touchdown and a 28-point lead. William & Mary's third safety of the game came with 6:45 left in the third on Xavier Dillard's blocked punt. Jackson Blee and Armon Wright each made a touchdown grab for William & Mary (5-4, 4-2 Coastal Athletic Association). Jack Shields was just 9-of-30 passing for 133 yards with an interception for Albany (1-8, 0-5), which has lost five straight games. Tyler Hughes threw two touchdown passes to Deven Thompson, including the go-ahead score in the third quarter, and William & Mary rallied from an 11-point deficit to beat Elon 26-21 on Saturday. William & Mary (4-3, 3-1 Coastal Athletic Association) fell behind 14-3 midway through the second quarter after Elon's Landen Clark threw touchdown passes covering 16 yards to Zimere Winston and a 47-yarder to Isaiah Fuhrmann. Hughes and Thompson connected in the end zone for the first time from 16-yards out with 24 seconds left before halftime to cut it to 14-10. Thompson had a 39-yard score at the end of a 10-play, 82-yard drive to begin the third and the Tribe moved ahead 17-14.A safety and Hughes' 6-yard touchdown run upped William & Mary's advantage to 26-14 after three quarters. Clark's 1-yard touchdown run for Elon (4-4, 2-2) was the lone score of the fourth quarter. Hughes completed 19 of 25 passes for 190 yards with Thompson accounting for 81 yards on three catches. Backup Noah Brannock connecte d on 3 of 6 passes for 59 yards. Clark totaled 184 yards on 14-for-18 passing and rushed 22 times for 83 yards. Tyler Hughes threw for a career-high 296 yards and four touchdowns, and Jackson Blee recorded his first two touchdowns for William & Mary in a 27-7 win over Charleston Southern on Saturday night. Blee scored both touchdowns in the second half, a 9-yard a nd a 63-yard reception to make it 27-7 for the Tribe. Rashad Raymond rushed for 75 yards and scored William & Mary's second touchdown.Hughes's previous passing yard record was 208, which he threw in the season-opening loss for the Tribe against Fu rman on Aug. 30. He finished 22-for-30 passing and no interceptions. A weather delay moved kickoff back an hour, and William & Mary found the end zone first, off a 9-yard pass to Alfred Honesty. Joseph Johnson recorded a 15-yard touchdown to make it 34-7 . Hakeem Watters recorded Charleston Southern's lone score; a 63-yard rush in the second quarter to tie the game at 7. William & Mary (2-2) head coach Mike London recorded his 100th win with the victory. The Tribe are now 2-0 all-time over Charleston Sou thern (0-4). - AP College Football
