Gunner Stockton, a fourth-year junior, participated in the Senior Day pregame ceremony, a possible indication he could bypass his final year of eligibility and enter the NFL draft. It's far from a sure sign as it's not unusual for fourth-year juniors to participate in Senior Day and then return for another season. - AP College Football

The Sooners were last in the top 10, at No. 6, the second week of October.Notre Dame remained No. 9 after a 22-point win at Pittsburgh and Alabama dropped six spots to No. 10 after the Soon ers ended its eight-game win streak. Gunner Stockton threw four touchdown passes - two to Noah Thomas - and ran for a score to outplay Arch Manning as No. 5 Georgia strengthened its postseason standing by overwhelming No. 10 Texas 35-10 on Saturday night for its sixth straight victory. Afte r Texas trimmed Georgia's lead to 14-10 in the third quarter, Stockton's 30-yard touchdown pass to London Humphreys, followed by a successful onside kick, allowed the Bulldogs to put the game away. Stockton's 6-yard scoring pass to Lawson Luckie followin g the recovery of the kick iced the win. Stockton added a 4-yard scoring run late in the game. With No. 4 Alabama's 23-21 loss to No. 11 Oklahoma earlier Saturday, Georgia (9-1, 7-1 Southeastern Conference) could move into position for a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff. The Bulldogs also boosted their hopes of defending their SEC championship. The Bulldogs claimed a 22-19 overtime win over the Longhorns in last year's SEC championship game in Atlanta following a win at Texas earlier in t he season. Georgia's win in the Longhorns' first visit to Athens gave the Bulldogs three wins in two years in the series. Texas (7-3, 4-2) saw its four-game winning streak end, putting its playoff hopes in jeopardy.Georgia has rolled since its 22- 19 overtime home loss to Alabama on Sept. 27. That loss ended Georgia's 33-game home winning streak, which was the longest active streak in FBS. Texas linebacker Anthony Hill's interception of Stockton's pass midway through the third quarter gave the Lon ghorns the ball at the Georgia 36. The Bulldogs' first penalty, a pass interference call against Zion Branch on a third-down play, set up Manning's 7-yard scoring pass to Ryan Wingo. The Longhorns' first touchdown trimmed Georgia's lead to 14-10. Georgia answered with a 10-play touchdown drive capped by Stockton's 30-yard scoring pass to London Humphreys. The Bulldogs covered a fourth-and-1 play on Stockton's 10-yard pass to Chauncey Bowens and survived another fourth down when Longhorns outside linebac ker Colin Simmons was called for an offsides penalty. Georgia coach Kirby Smart kept gambling by calling the onside kick recovered by Cash Jones. Stockton completed 24 of 29 passes for 229 yards. His interception was only his third of the season. Manning , who said this week he considered signing with Georgia until the end of his recruitment, completed 27 of 43 passes for 251 yards with one touchdown and one interception. - Georgia/AP College Football

Gunner Stockton threw for 264 yards and three touchdowns and No. 5 Georgia beat Mississippi State 41-21 on Saturday. Georgia (8-1, 6-1 SEC) surrendered a touchdown on the opening drive of the game and then scored 38 straight points. "Really proud of our guys. I thought that was a total team effort in a really tough place to play," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said. "I have a lot of respect for Jeff (Lebby). This team has played great all year. We had good leadership this week and our conditioning was the d ifference." It was a complete mismatch on both sides of the ball as the Georgia Bulldogs held the Mississippi State Bulldogs (5-5, 1-5 SEC) scoreless on six consecutive possessions while scoring five straight touchdowns themselves. Everything worked for Georgia offensively as Stockton finished 18 of 29 passing for 264 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 31 more yards.Where Georgia really set the tone was in the rushing attack. The visiting Bulldogs had 305 yards rushing and averaged 7.3 yards per carry with freshman Nate Frazier running for 181 yards yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Zachariah Branch had eight catches for 68 yards and a score and Noah Thomas finished with three catches for 78 yards and a touchdown. "It was a tot al team effort. You can't run the ball unless you commit to the run," Smart said. "It takes extra work and reps, but we have a special team that believes in that and a quarterback that believes in that." A bevy of injuries came MSU's way in the game. Sta rting quarterback Blake Shapen left the game in the third quarter with an apparent head injury and did not return. Defensive captain Isaac Smith left the first half with a lower leg injury while safety Brylan Lanier exited in the second half. Shapen fini shed the game 10 of 15 for 86 yards and had 15 yards rushing. MSU had 149 yards rushing overall. Freshman Kamario Taylor came in for Shapen and finished 6 of 10 for 67 yards and had 12 carries for 53 yards with all three of the team's scores. Fluff Bothw ell had nine carries for 44 yards and Brenen Thompson was the leading receiver with four catches for 92 yards. - Georgia/AP College Football

Gunner Stockton passed for 289 yards and four touchdowns, including three to tight end Lawson Luckie, and No. 9 Georgia overcame Trinidad Chambliss and No. 5 Mississippi's powerful offense to rally for a 43-35 win over the Rebels on Saturday. Georgia (6- 1, 4-1 Southeastern Conference) rallied after trailing 35-26 at the start of the fourth quarter. Stockton's 7-yard touchdown pass to Luckie with 7:29 remaining gave Georgia a 40-35 lead. Ole Miss (6-1, 3-1) was denied its first road win over a top 10 tea m under coach Lane Kiffin even though the Rebels scored touchdowns on their first five possessions. Stockton completed 26 of 31 passes and added a 22-yard scoring run in the crucial SEC showdown. "It was a great day," Stockton said. "We just played for e ach other and that's the best part of our team." Stockton and the Bulldogs had no turnovers. In previewing the game, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin said winning at Georgia would mean the Rebels have taken "another step" in their move up the SEC.That l ooked likely when they scored touchdowns on each of their first five possessions, taking a nine-point lead in the third quarter. Suddenly, the Ole Miss offense lost its magic as Georgia did not give up another first down. Following the first punt of the game by either team with 12:44 remaining, Stockton led a nine-play, 67-yard drive capped by the 7-yard scoring pass to Luckie that gave the Bulldogs their first lead of the second half. Following another stop by Georgia's defense, Stockton led a 10-play drive to set up Peyton Woodring's third field goal of the game, a 42-yarder, to stretch the lead to eight points with 2:06 remining. - Georgia/AP College Football

Gunner Stockton and the No. 12 Georgia Bulldogs wasted no time showing they had moved on from a tough loss to Alabama. Stockton and Dillon Bell each had a pair of touchdown runs, leading the Bulldogs to a 35-14 victory over Kentucky on Saturday. Georgia (4-1, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) finally got off to a quick start, capping its first two possessions with scoring runs from quarterback Stockton. There were no signs of anyone still pouting about what happened a week ago, when Alabama won 24-21 to snap Georgia's 33-game home winning streak. "I wasn't shocked at all by the response of the team," coach Kirby Smart said. "If we continue to get better, we'll be where we need to be." Stockton had 48 yards on six carries. He completed 15 of 23 passes for 19 6 yards, including a 16-yard scoring play to Cash Jones.Bell, a receiver who also has played running back, tacked on a pair of 3-yard TD runs with an end around and a reverse. He set up the scoring pass to Jones with a 33-yard catch. Cutter Boley had 225 yards passing with a couple of touchdowns for Kentucky (2-3, 0-3), but it wasn't nearly enough to prevent Georgia from winning its 16th straight game in the series. The Bulldogs haven't lost to Kentucky since 2009. "I'm excited about our guys get ting off to a fast start. That was the goal. That's always the goal," Smart said. "We still have a long way to improve to get where we need to go. But we are physical and we are resilient. That's gonna keep you competitive." Georgia took the opening kick off and went 75 yards in 12 plays, capped by Stockton diving at the pylon for a 7-yard scoring run. The Bulldogs went nearly the length of the field on their next possession - 96 yards over 13 plays - and Stockton finished it off again. He trotted in for a 6-yard TD after a nifty fake on linebacker Sam Greene. Georgia had trailed at halftime in its two previous games. No such issues in this one. - Georgia/AP College Football
