Indiana's offensive line, which struggled for long stretches of Friday's 23-20 season-opening win against Illinois, will now have to replace one of its steadiest veterans for the rest of the season. Matthew Bedford, a mainstay since his freshman season i n 2019 who started at right tackle Friday, tore his ACL in the first half against Illinois and will be out for the year. Three-plus seasons in Bloomington, Bedford had appeared in 29 games, 28 of them starts. He was a stalwart in 2019 and 2020, before be ing asked to move around more last season in an effort to strengthen a beleaguered line. - Indianapolis Star

2021 ALL-BIG TEN HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Matthew Bedford,...Indiana redshirt senior tight end Peyton Hendershot was named third-team All-Big Ten for the third-straight season, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon. Senior wide receiver Ty Fryfogle and junior offensive lineman Matthew Bedford earned honorable-mention recognition. Bedford started all 12 games at three different positions.
