Chad Copeland passed for a touchdown and ran for another as Chattanooga rolled over Wofford 35-10 on Saturday. Copeland was 14-of-20 passing for 200 yards including a 44-yard touchdown to Chris James. Copeland scored on a 1-yard run for the game's first score to begin run of 21 second-quarter points, his TD run and scoring pass bookending a 27-yard touchdown run by Ailym Ford for a 21-3 halftime lead. Ford finished with 98 yards on 16 carries. Tyrell Price also had 16 carries for 81 yards and a score. G ino Appleberry added the other Mocs touchdown. James Wells returned a kickoff 73 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter for the Terriers (1-8, 0-7), who have lost a program-record 11 straight Southern Conference games dating to last spring, a streak that began with a 24-13 loss at Chattanooga. The Mocs (6-3, 5-1) are in a three-way tie with East Tennessee State and Mercer atop the Southern Conference. - AP College Football

Tyrell Price rushed for 110 yards and Ailym Ford ran for 108 and the game's only touchdown as Chattanooga defeated Furman 13-3 in Southern Conference play on Saturday. Ford's TD came on Chattanooga's first possession of the game, capping a seven-play, 75 -yard drive with a 2-yard run. It was the only score of the first half. Furman pulled within 7-3 on a 24-yard field goal by Timmy Bleekrode with 5:54 remaining in the third quarter. The Mocs (5-3, 4-1) answered on the ensuing drive with freshman Aaron Se ars' 40-yard field goal for a 10-3 lead. Sears kicked a 38-yarder with 5:57 left in the game to finish the scoring. Cole Copeland completed 13 of 20 passes for 146 yards with one interception for Chattanooga. Price and Ford accounted for 218 of the Mocs' 245 yards on the ground. Freshman Jace Wilson was 4-of-14 passing for 47 yards with one interception for the Paladins (4-4, 2-3). Devin Abrams carried nine times for 68 yards. Cole Copeland passed for two touchdowns and ran for one of Chattanooga's four rushing scores as the Mocs beat Western Carolina 45-17 on Saturday. Chattanooga led 21-3 in the first quarter for its most points in the opening frame since 2017. Tyrell Price, Gino Appleberry and Ailym Ford each rushed for 70-plus yards and a score for Chattanooga (2-2, 1-0 Southern). Price's TD went for 57 yards and Ford had a 54-yarder as six rushers combined for 271 yards while WCU was held to 277 total yards.Ford, who entered with back-to-back 100-yard rushing games, carried it 16 times for 74 yards to become the fastest high-school signee to reach 1,500 career yards rushing in program history. Both of KeShawn Toney's catches went for a touchdown, and Telly Plumme r, Brandon Dowdell and Jerrell Lawson each made an interception for Chattanooga. Western Carolina (0-5, 0-2) is still seeking its first victory under first-year head coach Kerwin Bell. The Catamounts had their road losing streak extended to 11 games. Tyrell Price scored his second touchdown on a four-yard run in overtime before the Mocs elected to go for the win. Drayton Arnold shoveled the ball inside to Gibson on the play that started from the left hashmark. The dramatic sequence was set up by a pass int erference call on the Bulldogs in the end zone on a fourth-and-10 play from the 25. Chattanooga (2-1, 2-0 Southern Conference) was in control until a fumble and an interception allowed The Citadel to scored 10 points in the fourth quarter. The tying touc hdown, an 11-yard pass from Jaylan Adams to Raleigh Webb on third-and-9, came with 41 seconds left.
