Kurt Rawlings passed for 301 yards and two touchdowns and ran for two scores to help Yale double up Fordham 48-24 on Saturday. Rawlings completed 16 of 22 passes with one interception for the Bulldogs (3-0). Yale took control in the first half and never looked back. Reed Klubnik capped a nine-play, 82-yard drive with a 3-yard TD run for a 7-0 lead. Sam Tuckerman's 33-yard field goal put the Bulldogs up 10-0, but on Fordham's first play after the ensuing kickoff Tim DeMorat connected with Fotis Kokosioulis for a 70-yard score to pull the Rams (2-4) within 10-7. Rawlings answered with a 3-yard TD run and then hooked up with Mason Tipton for a 48-yard scoring strike 7 seconds into the second quarter to put Yale up 24-7.

Fordham closed within 24-10 on an Andrew Mevis 37-yard field goal, but Rawlings hit J.P. Shohfi for a 69-yard score and added a 1-yard TD run after Shohfi returned a Fordham punt 37 yards to the 2-yard line. Kyle Ellis ended Yale's 45-point first half when he returned an interception 23 yards for a TD. DeMorat, who finished 19-of-34 passing for 298 yards and three TDs, had scoring tosses of 33 yards to Jeff Ciccio and a 22-yarder to Dequece Carter in the fourth quarter for the Rams.   09/28/19 - Kurt RawlingsSr/2020, Yale, 6-2, 203 (DS#34 QB) + More +

J.P. Shohfi returned an onside kick for a 49-yard touchdown and helped Yale thwart a late Cornell rally with a 27-16 win on Saturday in an Ivy League opener. Kurt Rawlings led Yale (2-0) on a 12-play, 79-yard scoring drive that ended with his 5-yard scoring toss to make it 17-10 for the Bulldogs with 11:21 left to play. Sam Tuckerman's 33-yard field goal with 2:48 to go made it a 10-point lead.

Cornell (1-1) responded when Richie Kenney marched the Bulldogs down the field and led a six-play, 75-yard scoring drive in 53 seconds that ended with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Delonte Harrell. Yale's special teams came up big and blocked the point-after try for a 20-16 margin and set up Shohfi's game-clinching score. Rawlings finished 15-of-21 passing for 181 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Kenney completed half of his 28 pass attempts for 210 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions. Harold Coles had 17 carries for 141 yards for Cornell and Harrell had 134 yards receiving on six catches with two scores. - AP College Football

  09/21/19 - Kurt RawlingsSr/2020, Yale, 6-2, 203 (DS#34 QB) + More +

Kurt Rawlings passed for 232 yards and a touchdown and Zane Dudek ran for 96 yards and a score to help Yale open its season with a 23-10 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday. Yale took the opening kickoff and marched 69 yards on nine plays with Dudek bulling his way into the end zone from 2 yards out. The Bulldogs missed the extra point and led 6-0 after the first quarter. Holy Cross got on the scoreboard in the second quarter on a 34-yard field goal by Derek Ng and trailed 6-3 at halftime.

The Bulldogs scored on their first possession of the second half, using Rawlings' 24-yard scoring strike to Caden Herring to go ahead 13-3. The Crusaders pulled within 13-10 when Jordan Forrest ripped off a 54-yard run and two plays later Connor Degenhardt hooked up with Tenio Ayeni for a 27-yard score. But the Bulldogs took the ensuing kickoff and put together a 7-play, 62-yard drive that culminated with Rawlings's 3-yard TD run and a 20-10 lead. Sam Tuckerman's 28-yard field goal with 2:52 left in the game capped the scoring for Yale. The Bulldogs, preseason favorites to win the Ivy League, improved to 29-5 all-time against Holy Cross (1-2) and avenged a 31-28 overtime loss to the Crusaders last season. Degenhardt completed 10 of 27 passes for 145 yards for Holy Cross. The Bulldogs amassed 507 yards of offense, while holding the Crusaders to 237. - AP College Football
