2019 ALL-BIG 12 FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM (COACHES): DL Darius Stills, West Virginia,...The Stills brothers, Darius and Dante, were probably the most disruptive brother tandem this conference has seen since the Selmon brothers terrorized Big 8 teams in the mid-1970s at Oklahoma. Darius produced seven sacks, 14 1/2 tackles for losses and 47 total tackles during a breakout junior season in Vic Koenning's new 4-2-5 defensive scheme. Previously, Darius spent two years playing in West Virginia's 3-3 stack system that was more beneficial statistically to second-and third-level players. The Mountaineers finished second in the Big 12 and 27th nationally with 33 sacks. Darius and Dante will be the cornerstones of West Virginia's 2020 defense, and both should garner All-America consideration next summer. - West Virginia Football

2019 ALL-BIG 12 FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM (COACHES): OL Colton McKivitz, West Virginia,...McKivitz had his best overall season in 2019 despite playing on an inexperienced Mountaineer offense that ranked at the bottom of the league in scoring, total offense and rushing offense. When WVU was able to run the ball, it was usually to McKivitz's side, however. The Jacobsburg, Ohio, resident made 47 career starts during his brilliant four-year career and heads into the offseason as one of the premier offensive tackle prospect in this year's NFL Draft. - West Virginia Football

Dante, a sophomore, was equally impactful this season with seven sacks, 11 1/2 tackles for losses and 24 tackles in 12 games. The Mountaineers finished second in the Big 12 and 27th nationally with 33 sacks. Darius and Dante will be the cornerstones of West Virginia's 2020 defense, and both should garner All-America consideration next summer. - West Virginia Football

2019 BIG 12 CO-OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Colton McKivitz, West Virginia, Sr., Jacobsburg, Ohio,...McKivitz had his best overall season in 2019 despite playing on an inexperienced Mountaineer offense that ranked at the bottom of the league in scoring, total offense and rushing offense. When WVU was able to run the ball, it was usually to McKivitz's side, however. The Jacobsburg, Ohio, resident made 47 career starts during his brilliant four-year career and heads into the offseason as one of the premier offensive tackle prospect in this year's NFL Draft.

McKivitz has already accepted an invitation to play in the 2020 Senior Bowl and will also likely participate in the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis in March. He goes down in WVU history as one of the school's top offensive tackles. McKivitz shared the Big 12's top offensive lineman award with Oklahoma center Creed Humphrey. McKivitz was twice named an honorable mention All-Big 12 choice. "Colton, to me, is a dude," West Virginia coach Neal Brown said earlier this year. "He prepares like a dude, he plays like a dude and he leads like a dude." - West Virginia Football

West Virginia's football team will continue turning to the next man standing - provided that there is anybody left to stand.

Bandit linebacker Quondarius Qualls is the latest Mountaineer to be shelved for the season, coach Neal Brown announced on Tuesday. Qualls joins fellow bandit VanDarius Cowan with a season-ending injury, leaving the position in the hands of repurposed Mike linebacker Dylan Tonkery and true freshman Jared Bartlett. - MetroNews

  10/02/19 - Darius StillsSr/2021, West Virginia, 6-1, 278 (DS#13 DT) + More +

The Stills family is once again creating problems on defense at West Virginia. Linemen Dante Stills and his older brother, Darius, are among the Big 12's sack leaders and they'll look to cause more disruption when Sam Ehlinger and No. 11 Texas take on the Mountaineers on Saturday. Their father is former all-Big East and NFL Pro Bowl linebacker Gary Stills, who played at West Virginia from 1996 to 1998. The elder Stills had 26 career sacks, tied for the second most in school history. He had 12 in 1997, including four in one game against Marshall. His sons have a long way to go before catching him. At least they're making a dent.

"It's very special because it's very rare you get to play with your brother at this high of a level," Darius Stills said. "Whenever I see him make a play I get excited and vice versa. It's surreal, honestly." Dante Stills, a 6-foot-3, 303-pound sophomore, has started the last two games and has four sacks, one more than he had all of last season in a backup role. Darius Stills blocked a field goal in the opener against James Madison. He has three sacks and three starts this season. The junior, who is 2 inches shorter and 10 pounds lighter, wasn't as heavily recruited as his younger brother out of Fairmont Senior High School, about 15 minutes from West Virginia's campus. Dante Stills received scholarship offers from West Virginia and other schools as a high school sophomore, but the Mountaineers didn't go after Darius until late, and that was after he'd already committed to Rutgers, believing an offer from West Virginia would never come. - AP College Football

The junior hit a season-long field goal of 44 yards, while also connecting from 22 and 37. He averaged 62.8 yards per kick off in six attempts, resulting in four touchbacks. - Big 12 Football

WEEK 3 BIG 12 NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: West Virginia redshirt freshman wide receiver Sam James caught nine passes for 155 yards and finished with 212 all-purpose yards in West Virginia's win over NC State. James had a 20-yard touchdown catch and a career-long catch of 51 yards in the win. He returned three kickoffs for 50 yards and a long of 27. - Big 12 Football

  08/22/19 - T.J. SimmonsrSr/2021, West Virginia, 6-1, 208 (DS#71 WR) + More +

West Virginia wide receiver T.J. Simmons is embracing the chance to lead a unit that lost most of its production. An afterthought last season, Simmons is now the focal point of an inexperienced group still trying to fill out a depth chart under new head coach Neal Brown. "No pressure," Simmons said. "I enjoy it because it keeps me accountable." Simmons is a junior who transferred from Alabama after the 2016 season. He started half of West Virginia's games in 2018 and finished fifth on the team with 341 receiving yards on 28 catches.

Tevin Bush is the only other returning wide receiver who had more than 10 receptions. Also in the mix are redshirt freshman Sam James and Florida State graduate transfer George Campbell, who had 13 career catches. Brown also hopes Temple sophomore transfer Sean Ryan will be granted immediate eligibility. Simmons will try to continue a decade-long tradition of high-impact pass catchers that included Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin, Kevin and Ka'Raun White and, over the past two seasons, David Sills V and Gary Jennings Jr. - AP College Football
