A three-year starter and UTSA's top tackler the past two seasons, safety Wisdom returns for his senior campaign as the clear leader of the Roadrunners' defense. Wisdom, a Judson product, has racked up 227 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and five interceptions in three years, becoming a lineup fixture from his first game on campus. An aggressive, downhill tackler at 5-foot-9 and 205 pounds, Wisdom will likely be complemented at UTSA's other safety spot by 6-5, 190-pound Chattman. A Texas A&M transfer, Chattman appeared in just four games during his first season in the program in 2021 before missing the rest of the year to injury. - Express-News

Former UTSA running back Sincere McCormick signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent Wednesday, finding an opportunity after finishing last weekend's draft without an NFL home. A Judson product who set 20 school records with the Roadrunners, McCormick earned an invitation to Seattle's rookie minicamp Saturday but remained unsigned until Wednesday. "I can't tell you how happy I am right now," McCormick posted to Twitter. "God always has a plan, and you have to let him write it out. I'm thankful for this opportunity and watch me run with it. I want to thank everyone from my family, friends, and coach for believe in me." McCormick's record-breaking marks at UTSA include career rushing yards (3,929), rushing touchdowns (34), 100-yard rushing games (18) and all-purpose yards (4,438). - Express News

Running back Brenden Brady is planning to return to UTSA for a fifth year, he announced on social media, providing a boost at a position of need for the Roadrunners. A Steele product who totaled 1,052 yards and eight touchdowns in four years at UTSA, Brady took to Twitter on Monday to post an image of the words "I'm back" with the Roadrunners' #210TriangleofToughness hashtag. The post was shared by head coach Jeff Traylor and other members of the staff. Brady did not participate in spring practice for UTSA this month, posting after graduating in December that he would be "starting my future endeavors" rather than returning to the program. His decision to pursue a final season comes after injuries through spring practice left the Roadrunners searching for answers to replace Sincere McCormick, who announced in December that he would be leaving UTSA early to enter the NFL draft. - Express-News

  05/02/22 - Joe EvansrSr/2025, Texas-San Antonio, 6-2, 323 (DS#61 DT) + More +

Defensive tackle Joseph Evans, who wasn't listed on LSU's roster during spring practice, entered the NCAA transfer portal Tuesday, according to multiple reports. Evans left LSU midseason last year, but he announced over the winter he would return to the team. Not on the roster, Evans didn't participate in spring practice. Evans, who briefly played offensive line earlier in his career when LSU needed more depth, made 28 tackles over three seasons. He appeared in 16 games with nine starts. A three-star recruit from Haynesville, Evans played in four low-profile games his freshman season. He then started five times in 2020, carving out a larger role on the defensive line heading into his junior year. Evans started four of LSU's first five games last season. He recorded eight tackles, including two for a loss, before leaving the team. - Baton Rouge Advocate

Despite all the focus on quarterbacks, new coach Brian Kelly knows LSU must be committed to running the ball well to win the Southeastern Conference. He has a promising group, but his best runner is John Emery Jr. He had only four carries for 24 yards Saturday, but Kelly said Emery was playing hurt because he knows he will be less than 100% during the season. "I was proud of him," Kelly said. - Baton Rouge Advocate

Dematrius Davis won't be going far to continue his football career, as the former Auburn quarterback announced Monday that he'd be continuing his college career at Alabama State in Montgomery. Davis, who entered the transfer portal on March 23, spent a season in Auburn, signing with the Tigers in December 2020 - between the firing of former coach Gus Malzahn and hiring of Bryan Harsin.

Recruited by Malzahn, Davis never saw the field during Harsin's first year. Davis was a four-star recruit out of North Shore High School in Texas, where he won two state titles. He chose the Tigers over offers from Baylor, Arkansas and LSU, among others. The second-year player was splitting reps with quarterbacks TJ Finley and Robby Ashford in spring practice prior to his departure, and was expected to take part in a four-man competition between Finley, Ashford, Zach Calzada and himself for Auburn's QB1 spot. Alabama State competes in Division I FCS. - Opelika-Auburn News
