  2022 PRESEASON CHUCK BEDNARIK AWARD WATCH LIST: Rashad Wisdom, UTSA, Senior S,...Last season, Wisdom recorded 88 tackles, 67 solo stops, four tackles for loss, six pass breakups and a forced fumble to help lead UTSA to a 12-2 record, the C-USA title, the program's first top-25 ranking and the Frisco Bowl. He logged 10-plus tackles three times, including a season-high 13 in the 52-46 road win over Western Kentucky. Semifinalists for the Chuck Bednarik Award will be announced Nov. 1, while the three finalists will be unveiled Nov. 22.   A panel of media members that cover Conference USA schools forecast a championship game matchup of former West Division rivals, UTSA, who won the 2021 C-USA title and, UAB. The 2022 season format is without divisions and will pit the top two teams in conference play against one another in the 2022 Ryan Conference USA Championship Game, which will be hosted by the team with the best league winning percentage. UTSA earned 14 first place votes as the Roadrunners look to defend their 2021 conference crown. The Roadrunners finished a program-best 12-2 last season, posting a 7-1 mark in league play. They knocked off WKU in a thrilling 49-41 win at the AlamoDome in last season’s title game and earned their second straight bowl berth under head coach Jeff Traylor.

UTSA is led offensively by QB Frank Harris, who completed 263-398 passes for 3,177 yards with 27 touchdowns to just six interceptions and also added 566 rushing yards, six more scores on the ground and added a touchdown reception.   UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor, quarterback Frank Harris and safety Rashad Wisdom will represent the Roadrunners at the 2022 Ryan C-USA Football Kickoff on Wednesday, July 27, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The league's 11 head coaches and two players from each program will be on hand to discuss and preview the upcoming 2022 football season. In addition to traditional press conferences and media availability, all participants will also take part in a live ESPN+ show beginning at 10 a.m., hosted by ESPN's John Schriffen. Coming off a record-setting 12-2 campaign last fall, UTSA will open its 12th season of play and third under Traylor, the 2021 C-USA Coach of the Year, on Sept. 3 against Houston.
