  Quarterback Frank Harris accounted for five touchdowns and 227 yards and Conference USA-leading UTSA smashed Rice 41-7 on Saturday. Harris was 11-for-14 passing for 103 yards and two touchdowns while running for 124 yards on seven carries with three touchdowns. Harris' 63- and 15-yard scoring runs put the Roadrunners (9-2, 7-0) ahead 14-0 in the first quarter. His 5-yard pass to Zakhari Franklin just before the quarter ended made it a three-score game.   NOV 7 CONFERENCE USA SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: UTSA K Jared Sackett was 3-3 on field goals and made all three extra-point attempts to help lead UTSA to a 44-38 double-overtime victory over UAB on Saturday. The senior kicker split the uprights from 29 and 31 yards, before drilling a 46-yarder, all in the second quarter, to help the Roadrunners build a 16-10 halftime lead. Sackett's extra point in the first overtime following a touchdown catch by Tykee Ogle-Kellogg sent the contest to a second overtime.   Frank Harris threw two touchdown passes in regulation and two more in a pair of overtime periods as UTSA held off UAB 44-38 on Saturday to remain undefeated in Conference USA play. Harris fired a 12-yard touchdown pass to Zakhari Franklin midway through the fourth quarter, then found him again for a two-point conversion to put UTSA on top 31-17. Jacob Zeno rallied the Blazers, nosing in from the 1-yard line with under five minutes to play in regulation, then dropping a perfect pass into the waiting arms of Trea Shropshire at the 4-yard line for a 38-yard score to tie the game at 31-31 with 15 seconds left, forcing overtime.

Zeno hit Tejhaun Palmer in the end zone from 11 yards out in the first round of overtime, but UTSA answered with a Harris' short touchdown pass to Tykee Ogle-Kellogg. Harris found an open Joshua Cephus in the right flat for a 14-yard touchdown to open the second overtime, and the Roadrunners' defense took over from there, sacking Zeno on third down and defending a pass at the goal line that fell incomplete on fourth down to end the game.   Dematrius Davis found Jeremiah Hixon with a 23-yard touchdown pass with two minutes left in the game to earn Alabama State a come-from-behind, 24-17 win over Alabama A&M in the 81st Magic City Classic Saturday, claiming HBCU bragging rights in the state for the first time since 2017. The Hornets (5-3, 3-2 Southwestern Conference) took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter when Jayden John kicked a career-long 49-yard field goal, but Alabama A&M (3-5, 3-2) stormed back to take a 14-3 lead at intermission on a Quincy Casey touchdown pass to Isiah Cox and Jamal Irby's six-yard pick-six. Davis hit Kisean Johnson from nine yards out and Jacory Merritt scored on a four-yard run to give Alabama State a 17-14 lead. Victor Barbosa kicked 37-yard field goal with 6:06 left to pull the Bulldogs into a 17-17 tie before Davis engineered a six-play, 81-yard game-winning drive. Casey finished 16 of 21 for 217 yards and a touchdown and Xavier Lankford was 4 of 7 for 22 yards as the Alabama A&M passing game generated 239 yards but managed just one score.   OCT 24 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: UTSA QB Frank Harris accounted for 313 yards of offense and a pair of touchdowns to help lead UTSA to a thrilling 31-27 victory over North Texas in a battle for first place in Conference USA on Saturday in San Antonio. The senior quarterback completed 27-39 passes for 238 yards and two TDs and also ran for 75 yards. The Roadrunners matched a school record with 95 plays and piled up 495 yards, including a season-high 257 on the ground. Harris engineered a game-winning, 75-yard drive with no timeouts and 1:38 left to play. On the first play, he scampered 22 yards on a QB draw. He later completed a two-yard pass to Zakhari Franklin on fourth down to keep the drive alive before finding Oscar Cardenas open over the middle for a one-handed, 33-yard catch. With the clock winding down, Harris tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to De'Corian Clark on a fade route in the left corner of the end zone for the go-ahead score with 15 seconds remaining.   Frank Harris' 10-yard pass to De'Corian Clark with 15 seconds remaining lifted UTSA over North Texas 31-27 on Saturday to take sole possession of first place in Conference USA. North Texas (5-3, 3-1) led just 6-3 at halftime and 13-10 through three quarters before the teams combined for 35 points in the final period. The final three touchdowns came in the remaining 2 1/2 minutes. Harris passed 6 yards to Joshua Cephus then UNT responded with Austin Aune's 1-yard toss to Isaiah Johnson with 1:38 remaining for a 27-24 lead.

The Roadrunners (6-2, 4-0) began their winning drive on their 25, converting a fourth-and-2 before Oscar Cardenas made a sensational one-handed catch down the middle to set UTSA up at the Mean Green 10. On the next play, Harris found Clark on the left side of the end zone. Harris finished 27 of 39 for 238 yards, two touchdowns and an interception and added 75 rushing yards.   Frank Harris threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns, Kevorian Barnes rushed for 128 yards and two scores, and UTSA eased past Florida International 30-10 on Friday night. UTSA led 17-3 at halftime behind Harris' 195 yards passing and two touchdowns. Harris launched a pass under pressure and Dan Dishman hauled it in for a 42-yard touchdown with 2:41 left before intermission.

Corey Mayfield Jr. made an interception for UTSA on a tipped pass and Barnes capitalized on a short field with a 9-yard touchdown run to extend the lead to 24-3.   Frank Harris completed 24 of 35 passes for 275 yards and touchdown and added 61 yards rushing - including a 12-yard TD - on 10 carries to help UTSA beat Western Kentucky 31-28 Saturday night. The Roadrunners scored 17 consecutive points to close the first half and open the third quarter to take a 10-point lead when Chris Carpenter fumbled near the goal line and Joshua Cephus jumped on the ball in the end zone for a touchdown about 3 minutes into the second half.

On the opening drive, UTSA (4-2, 2-0 Conference USA) went 65 yards in 10 plays to take a 7-0 lead when Harris scored from the 12 on a quarterback draw with 11:32 left in the first quarter. Austin Reed ran for a 2-yard score about 3 minutes later and threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Daewood Davis midway threw the second quarter to give Western Kentucky (3-3, 1-1) a 14-7 lead.   OCT 3 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: UTSA QB Frank Harris broke his own school records for passing yards and total offense for the second straight week to lead UTSA to a 45-30 road victory over Middle Tennessee in the C-USA opener on Friday night. Harris completed 27-36 passes for 414 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 31 yards and a pair of scores to help the offense churn out a season-high 590 yards. Harris reached the 300-yard mark through the air before halftime, notching his fourth 300-yard game of the season and seventh of his career, both school records. Harris leads the FBS in total offense (383.4 ypg) and he ranks second nationally in passing yards (1,724), seventh in completions per game (26.2) and 10th in points responsible for (98).   Frank Harris passed for 392 yards and four touchdowns, De'Corian Clark had three touchdown catches and UTSA pulled away in the second half to beat FCS-member Texas Southern 52-24 on Saturday. Harris threw a 69-yard scoring strike to Clark just 47 seconds into the third quarter to push a four-point halftime lead to a 28-17 advantage for UTSA (2-2). Harris added a 23-yard touchdown toss to Joshua Cephus later in the third quarter and hooked up with Zakhari Franklin for a 35-yarder 11 seconds into the fourth. Backup quarterback Eddie Lee Marburger connected with Clark for a 7-yard score to cap the scoring.

  SEPT 12 CONFERENCE USA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: UTSA QB Frank Harris posted his second consecutive 300-yard passing day to help UTSA rally for a 41-38 overtime win at Army on Saturday in West Point. The senior quarterback completed 32-45 passes for 359 yards - just eight yards shy of the school record - and three touchdowns and added 30 yards on the ground, as the Roadrunners churned out 512 yards of offense against the Black Knights. Harris completed passes to six different players, including a pair that topped the century mark for the second straight games in Zakhari Franklin (122) and Joshua Cephus (112). Harris led UTSA back from a 14-point second-half deficit with three touchdown drives in a row to eventually take a 35-28 lead late in the contest.   Frank Harris threw for 359 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner to JT Clark in overtime, rallying UTSA to a 41-38 victory over Army on Saturday. The Roadrunners (1-1) missed a 41-year field-goal attempt on the final play of regulation and Army (0-2) took the lead on the first possession of overtime on Quinn Maretzki's first field goal of the season before Harris brought back UTSA again. Trailing 28-14 midway through the third quarter, Harris directed the Roadrunners to three straight touchdowns, taking the lead 34-28 with Brenden Brady's 1-yard run. Army's Cade Ballard, who left the game midway through the third quarter with leg cramps, returned to throw a 42-yard score to Tyrell Robinson with just over a minute left in regulation. The teams combined for 995 yards of offense. Ballard threw for 221 yards and Army finished with 304 yards in the air, the most for the Black Knights since they had 305 against Houston in 2001.

Army led 21-14 at halftime. Tyhier Tyler, who had a 77-yard TD pass to Ay'Jaun Marshall for the game's first points, reentered the game for Ballard, and scored on a 16-yard run for a 14-point lead midway through the third quarter. But Harris threw 9 yards to Zakhari Franklin for a score and Brady added a pair of 1-yard scores. UTSA bounced back after a 37-35 three-overtime loss to then-No. 24 Houston last week and ended Army's six-game streak of wins in home openers. The Roadrunners are at Texas next week.
