The preseason accolades continue to pour in for UTSA, as quarterback Frank Harris has earned a spot on preseason watch list for the Manning Award sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Harris is one of 32 FBS signal-callers, and the lone Conference USA selection, to appear on the list for the Manning Award, which was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting.

Harris, who also has landed on the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award Watch List, has played in 15 games and started 14 contests over the past two seasons for the Roadrunners, completing 225 of 341 passes for 2,116 yards and 15 touchdowns. A product of Schertz Clemens High School, he currently owns UTSA's career record for completion percentage (.660) and he ranks third all-time in passing yards, passing touchdowns and passing efficiency (127.9). - Texas-San Antonio Football

Led by a first-team All-Conference USA selection in Wisdom, UTSA's secondary welcomes back returning starters at every position. A starter through his first two seasons in the program, Wisdom was a consistent presence around the ball last year, leading UTSA with 95 tackles and four interceptions while forcing a pair of fumbles. Only targeting penalties earned in back-to-back weeks moved him out of the starting group. Though he was a limited participant through stretches of spring practice due to injury, Wisdom said one of his offseason focuses has been cleaning up his tackling form, avoiding leading with his head to prevent future infractions. - Express-News

Defensive line has been regarded as one of UTSA's strongest position groups through recent seasons, and the Roadrunners project to field another formidable unit in 2021. Haynes should be the anchor in the middle of the Roadrunners' three-man front, likely stepping into a starting role for a third straight season as he takes advantage of an additional year of eligibility. After flashing signs of dominance with five tackles for loss during UTSA's first two games, he suffered an undisclosed injury that kept him out of three contests and limited him in others. He finished the season with four sacks, ranking second on the team, and six tackles for loss - less than half of the 12.5 tackles for loss he racked up as a junior in 2019. - Express-News

McCormick likely will continue to be the focal point of UTSA's offense after rushing for 1,467 yards with 11 touchdowns and raking in an array of accolades last season. The Judson grad was a finalist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizing the top offensive player with Texas ties, a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award for the nation's top running back, a Football Writers Association of America second team All-American, the Dave Campbell's Texas Football College Player of the Year and the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year.

His rushing total ranked second nationally, and he finished sixth in the FBS with 133.4 rushing yards per game. McCormick said he felt "like a fat guy" at the start of last season, entering the year around 215 pounds. His primary focuses through the spring were slimming down and working to become a more elite sprinter with eyes toward an NFL future. Durability has been a strength for McCormick through two seasons as the only game he missed was to be present for the birth of his daughter, Legacy, last November. But McCormick averaged 22.6 carries per game in 2020, including a high of 37 against Louisiana Tech, and his ability to hold up through a heavy workload is worth monitoring. - Express-News
