2020 ALL-SEC SECOND TEAM (COACHES): OL Kenyon Green, Texas A&M,...The trio of offensive linemen has not missed a start this season, while contributing on one of the top offensive lines the SEC has seen in a decade. The Aggies lead the league in sacks allowed (0.44), tackles for loss allowed (3.78) and yards per carry (5.35) through nine SEC contests, and stand as the first team to lead the conference in all three categories over the last 10 years. A&M's 0.44 sacks allowed average is the lowest among Power 5 schools since the 2007 season. A finalist for the Joe Moore Award, A&M's offensive line ranks in the top five nationally in sacks allowed and tackles for loss allowed this season. - Texas A&M Football

With four seniors on the unit this season, there are plenty of reasons why Texas A&M's offensive line should have earned semifinalist honors for the Joe Moore Award. But it's the lone underclassman among the "Maroon Goons" who has caught the attention of offensive line experts and coaches around the country. Sophomore left guard Kenyon Green made strides during an offseason spent mostly away from the Coolidge Grass Practice Fields and is now at the heart of the Aggies' emergence up front on offense this season. "He's a freak," senior right tackle Carson Green said. "Y'all can see that from up there. His athleticism is unbelievable. If you're looking at O-linemen, just look at their lower bodies. Look at how their hips move and how much they can bend. Kenyon's got all of that." - Bryan/College Station Eagle

  12/19/20 - Kellen MondSr/2021, Texas AM, 6-3, 211 (DS#8 QB) + More +

Kellen Mond threw for 281 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 59 yards and a score Saturday, allowing No. 5 Texas A&M to close its case for a spot in the College Football Playoff with a 34-13 victory over Tennessee. Isaiah Spiller ran for 89 yards and a touchdown, and Ainias Smith scored once rushing and once receiving. Mond completed 26 of 32 passes as the Aggies (8-1, No. 5 CFP) finished their regular season and hoped for an upset or two within the CFP's top four. Tennessee (3-7) has lost seven of its last eight games, ramping up speculation about Jeremy Pruitt's future as Vols coach.

Harrison Bailey and J.T. Shrout combined to throw for 189 yards and two touchdowns for the Vols. The Aggies had trouble getting separation in the second half. Up 24-13 at halftime, the Aggies flirted with pulling away in the third quarter, but a red zone interception ended the threat. It wasn't until the 9:02 mark of the fourth quarter that Texas A&M got some breathing room. Mond engineered an 88-yard drive, with a key play of a 28-yard pass to Jalen Wydermeyer, that ended with a 1-yard run by Smith for a 31-13 lead. - AP College Football

  12/09/20 - Kellen MondSr/2021, Texas AM, 6-3, 211 (DS#8 QB) + More +

Saturday's stat line for Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond wasn't flashy compared to many of his previous performances - 18-of-23 passing for 196 yards and two touchdowns. But each completion and each yard added up to Mond's only win over Auburn in four years of trying as his composure and poised helped the fifth-ranked Aggies beat the Tigers 31-20 at Jordan-Hare Stadium. "Just kind of looking back at my evolution and my growth since my freshman year has been big time," Mond said.

Mond's first hack at Auburn in 2017 ended with him getting benched in favor of the season's initial starter, Nick Starkel. Mond began the game 5-for-11 passing for 16 yards and got shown the bench midway through the second quarter for Starkel, who had recovered from an ankle injury sustained in the Aggies' season opening loss to UCLA. When Jimbo Fisher took over as head coach, he solved the Aggies' quarterback controversy by backing Mond, but it didn't change Mond's fortunes against Auburn. Over the Aggies' next two seasons, Mond completed 47 of 81 passes (58%) for 555 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in two games against Auburn, both losses. Saturday was different. With a 78.2% passing clip, Mond had his second-best performance in terms of accuracy in his career. - Bryan/College Station Eagle

2020 OUTLAND TROPHY SEMIFINALIST: Kenyon Green, G, Texas A&M (6-4, 325, So., Humble, Texas): Green has led the Aggies into national prominence by allowing quarterback Kellen Mond to set school passing records while also paving the way for an underrated running attack. He's the best among an offensive line which is fifth in the nation and leads the SEC allowing just 0.5 sacks per game and 4.0 total on the season. The line's 4.0 TFL's allowed per game is also top-10 nationally as Mond has set six career passing records, including wins as a quarterback. Texas A&M has an Outland winner from 2012 in offensive tackle Luke Joeckel, and offensive tackle Jake Matthews was a finalist in 2013. - Greater Omaha Sports Committee

Kellen Mond passed for two touchdowns and ran for a third and No. 5 Texas A&M scored 17 points in the fourth quarter of a come-from-behind 31-20 victory over Auburn on Saturday. The Aggies (7-1) dominated the final quarter to win their sixth straight and remain in College Football Playoff contention. The Tigers (5-4), who have gone 0-3 against teams ranked in the top five at the time, led 20-14 entering the fourth. Mond rebounded from his worst game of the season against LSU with a strong performance. He completed 18 of 23 for 196 yards, highlighted by two TDs to Jalen Wydermyer, and ran for 60 yards.

Seth Small iced the game with a 32-yard field goal with just over a minute remaining after an earlier miss had helped Auburn remain within a score. Isaiah Spiller had his fifth 100-yard game of the current winning streak, gaining 120 on 20 carries. Devon Achane also ran for 99 yards on just nine carries. Wydermyer caught eight passes for 89 yards. The Aggies took a 21-20 lead early in the fourth quarter when Auburn linebacker Zakoby McClain tipped the ball into the arms of tight end Wydermyer for a touchdown - instead of what could have been a game-changing interception. - Texas A&M/AP College Football

Isaiah Spiller ran for 141 yards and a touchdown and Buddy Johnson returned an interception for a score in No. 5 Texas A&M's 20-7 victory over LSU on Saturday night. Texas A&M (6-1, No. 5 CFP) extended its winning streak to five games in its first contest since Nov. 7 after the team couldn't play the last two weeks because of a coronavirus outbreak. The Aggies relied on their running game and tough defense on a wet and soggy night where rain fell steadily and made passing difficult.

Kellen Mond had a season-low 105 yards passing in his first game this season without a touchdown pass. LSU's 123rd-ranked pass defense broke up eight of his passes in the first half and finished with 11. TJ Finley threw for 118 yards and had an interception in the second quarter for LSU (3-4) before he was benched for Max Johnson after Buddy Johnson's Pick-6 in the third quarter. Texas A&M beat the Tigers for the second time in three years after the Aggies had a 74-72 victory in seven overtimes in LSU's last visit to Kyle Field in 2018 in a game that tied the record for most OTs in an FBS game. - Texas A&M /AP College Football

  11/28/20 - David Bailey Jr.rSr/2024, Texas AM, 6-0, 225 (DS#999 RB) + More +

Backup quarterback Dennis Grosel threw for two touchdowns after starter Phil Jurkovec was hurt, and David Bailey ran for two scores before he left with an injury on Saturday as Boston College beat Louisville 34-27. Jurkovec completed 15 of 19 passes for 203 yards before the pocket collapsed around him in the third quarter and knocked him out of the game. The Notre Dame transfer spent the rest of the game with his left knee wrapped on the sideline, joining Bailey, who had an unspecified injury.

Grosel completed 4 of 7 passes for 44 yards for BC (6-4, 5-4 Atlantic Coast Conference). He also broke free for a 44-yard run that set up an 11-yard touchdown pass to CJ Lewis that made it 27-13 early in the fourth quarter. Bailey ran 10 times for 53 yards, and Zay Flowers caught seven passes for 87 yards for the Eagles. Malik Cunningham threw for 294 yards and ran for 133 more for Louisville (3-7, 2-7). After Grosel hit Jehlani Galloway from 21 yards out to make it 34-20 with just under five minutes remaining, Cunningham connected with Dez Fitzpatrick on a short pass-and-run for a 69-yard score. Boston College went three and out, and Cunningham was moving the Cardinals before Jahmin Muse tipped a pass at the line of scrimmage and defensive lineman Shita Sillah intercepted it at the Louisville 47. Cunningham finished 19 for 31, with two touchdowns and an interception, hitting Fitzpatrick eight times for 182 yards. - Boston College/AP College Football
