  2025 OVC-BIG SOUTH OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Kekoa Visperas (QB, R-Sr.), Tennessee Tech,...Visperas set a new Tennessee Tech single-season record for touchdown passes (25 - a mark that ranked eighth nationally) in helping the Golden Eagles finish 11-1 overall and 8-0 in the OVC-Big South as they won their second-straight Association title and first outright Conference Championship since 1975. The transfer from Eastern Washington led the Association in total offense (247.5 yards/game) and total offensive touchdowns (28). In 12 regular season games he completed 212-of-323 passes (65.6%) for 2,486 yards and also rushed for 484 yards (third on the TTU team) and three additional scores. He ranked 19th nationally in points responsible for (168), 20th in passing efficiency (152.7), 23rd in total offense and 28th in completion percentage. A finalist for the Walter Payton Award, Visperas was named OVC-Big South Offensive Player of the Week three times and passed for a season-best 358 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 73 yards in a victory over Western Illinois on October 4. - OVC-Big South Football

  WEEK 13 OVC-BIG SOUTH SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dom LeBlanc, K, 6-0, 170, So., Dawsonville, Ga., Tennessee Tech,...LeBlanc connected on a 35-yard field goal with 11 seconds left to lift Tennessee Tech to a 20-17 victory over UT Martin. The victory sealed a perfect 8-0 OVC-Big South record giving the Golden Eagles its second-straight Association title and the team its first outright Conference title since 1975. The sophomore also connected form 28 yards at the end of the second quarter to put TTU on the board. LeBlanc made both of his PATs and averaged 62.0 yards on five kickoffs, three of which went for touchbacks. It also marked the team's 11th victory of the season, the most in school history. The transfer from Eastern Washington completed 31-of-45 passes including a 23-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter and an eight-yarder with 2:59 to play, which tied the game at 17. After a punt, Visperas led an eight-play, 63-yard drive that resulted in a 35-yard field goal by Dom LeBlanc to give TTU the victory. He ranks eighth nationally in passing touchdowns (25) and 23rd in total offense (247.5 yards/game).   Kekoa Visperas threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns, Dom LeBlanc hit a 35-yard field goal with 11 seconds to go, and Tennessee Tech came back in 20-17 triumph over UT Martin in the final regular-season game for both teams. The Golden Eagles, (11-1, 8-0 OVC-Big South), ranked eighth in the FCS coaches' poll, secured the conference title outright with the victory, as well as the Sgt. York Trophy as the winner of the season series between the OVC's Tennessee members.

Brian Courtney caught six passes for 89 yards, and Tre' Holloway had eight receptions for 52 yards. Q'Daryius Jennings grabbed Tech's other touchdown, a 23-yarder late in the third quarter that tied the game. The Skyhawks (6-6, 6-2) took a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter on a 32-yard Cade Hechter kick. With the Golden Eagles leading 14-3 with four minutes to play in the game, the senior recovered a fumble and returned it 10 yards to salt away the contest; it marked his second defensive score of the season.   WEEK 10 OVC-BIG SOUTH OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Zolten Osborne, QB, 6-1, 205 R-So., North Charleston, S.C., Charleston Southern,...Osborne earned the award for the second time in three weeks after passing for a career-high 302 yards and accounting for two touchdowns as Charleston Southern won 23-17 at Southeast Missouri. It marked the third-straight victory for the Buccaneers, the team's longest winning streak since 2019. The redshirt sophomore completed 17-of-35 passes for 302 yards and a touchdown and carried the ball eight times for 11 yards and another score. Osborne scored his first career rushing touchdown on a four-yard scramble in the second quarter. Two and a half minutes later he connected with Rashawn Cunningham for a 14-yard score to put the team ahead 17-3. He has thrown for 250 or more yards in each of his past three games and tossed at least one touchdown in four-straight contests. Lauderdale, Fla., Tennessee Tech,...LaPierre had three sacks (for -25 yards), four solo tackles, a forced fumble and three quarterback hurries to pace No. 8 ranked Tennessee Tech to a 27-21 win over Gardner-Webb. With the win the Golden Eagles improved to 9-0 on the season, its best start since 1952. His first sacked results in a forced fumble and Tech at the end of the third quarter with his team trailing by four points; two plays later Tennessee Tech scored to grab the lead and would not trail again. He would add two more sacks in the final quarter, the last coming on GWU's final drive of the game, where LaPierre also added a pair of quarterback hurries, resulting in a turnover on downs.   Theron Gaines returned a fumble for a touchdown and Tennessee Tech's top FCS defense led the way in a 21-9 win over Eastern Illinois on Saturday. Gaines scooped up a fumble from quarterback Cole LaCrue and returned it for a 10-yard touchdown to put the FCS No. 5 Golden Eagles (10-0, 7-0 OVC-Big South) up 21-3 with 3:50 remaining. Q'Daryius Jennings opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 5-yard rushing score.

Maury Sullivan doubled that tally with a 48-yard receiving touchdown from Kekoa Visperas late in the first quarter. Visperas was 17-of-23 passing for 151 yards with an interception. Tennessee Tech entered the game allowing 3.92 yards per play, the fewest in FCS, but allowed 137 rushing yards to the Panthers (3-7, 2-5). It's their second consecutive week allowing more than 100 rushing yards, after allowing none in the previous eight games. The Golden Eagles allowed an 18-yard touchdown from LaCrue to DeAirious Smith with 1:16 remaining for the final margin.   Zolten Osborne threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score to help Charleston Southern hold off Southeast Missouri State 23-17 on Saturday. In the second quarter, Osborne ran for a 4-yard touchdown and threw a 14-yard TD pass to Rashawn Cunningham as Charleston Southern built a 20-3 halftime lead. Cole Ruble's 1-yard touchdown burst pulled Southeast Missouri State to 20-10 early in the third quarter, and Jax Leatherwood's 40-yard TD pass to Cam Pedro made it 20-17 early in the fourth.

The Buccaneers' Zach Gordon kicked his third field goal of the game, a 25-yarder with 2:54 to play. Leatherwood then drove the Redhawks near midfield on their final drive but he threw an incomplete pass on fourth-and-10 with 2:02 remaining. Osborne completed 17 of 35 passes for 302 yards for Charleston Southern (4-6, 3-3 OVC-Big South). Jamil Bishop caught four passes for 99 yards, and Cunningham caught four for 70 yards.   Tre' Holloway scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, Maurice LaPierre had three sacks, and Tennessee Tech scored 24 unanswered points to beat Gardner-Webb 27-21 on Sunday and extend its winning streak to 14 games, the longest in FCS football. The Golden Eagles (9-0, 6-0 OVC-Big South) took their first lead eight seconds into the fourth quarter after securing a sack fumble on Cole Pennington. Kekoa Visperas found Holloway for a 43-yard touchdown two plays later. Holloway temporarily broke the game open with a 60-yard score on a sweep play with 7:47 remaining, making it 24 unanswered points.

The Runnin' Bulldogs (5-4, 3-2) came up short on a fake punt on a fourth-and-11 with 7:04 remaining, but got a first down on an unnecessary roughness call. The penalty set up a 24-yard touchdown from Pennington to Anthony Lowe, to make it a one-score game. Pennington was sacked by LaPierre for the third time, and the seventh of the day on the final drive. It's the first time since 1952 that the FCS No. 8 Golden Eagles have started 9-0.   Zolten Osborne threw for 280 yards, David Portu blocked a field-goal attempt with 10 seconds left and Charleston Southern held on after scoring the last 14 points inside the final six minutes to beat Eastern Illinois 17-16 on Saturday. Osborne connected with Rashawn Cunningham on a 5-yard score to pull Charleston Southern to 16-10 with 5:49 left. The Buccaneers forced a three-and-out and then took the lead when Hakeem Watters scored on a 1-yard run. The six-play drive was highlighted by Osborne's 43-yard pass to Watters. Cole LaCrue led the Panthers to the Charleston Southern 19 before Portu blocked Drew Schiller's 35-yard field-goal try. Osborne completed 26 of 38 passes without an interception. Mekhi Campfield and Cunningham combined for 11 catches for 157 yards for Charleston Southern (3-6, 2-3 OVC-Big South).   Kekoa Visperas threw two touchdown passes, Q'Daryius Jennings ran for TDs of 11 and 12 yards, and Tennessee Tech beat Missouri State 42-23 on Saturday to extend the longest active win streak in Division I. Tennessee Tech (8-0, 5-0 OVC-Big South Conference), ranked No. 9 in the FCS coaches poll, has won 13 consecutive games dating to a 37-21 loss at Western Illinois on Oct. 19, 2024. Visperas was 12-of-23 passing for 163 yards with no interceptions and Jennings with a game-high 37 yards rushing on seven carries.

Southeast Missouri State (3-5, 2-2) outgained the Owls 401-299 total yards but committed two turnovers - which led to 14 Tennessee Tech points - and failed to convert two fourth downs. Visperas opened the scoring with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Tremel Jones and hit Aidan Littles for a 14-yard touchdown that made it 21-3 with 1:53 left in the first half. Jax Leatherwood replaced Johnny Weber early in the second quarter and finished 27-of-38 passing for 278 yards, which included a 38-yard TD pass to Kalvin Gilbert in the fourth quarter. Weber, who completed 10 of 19 for 103 yards with an interception, made his third consecutive start after Leatherwood and back-up Patrick Heitert left a 34-10 loss to UT Martin on Sept. 27 due to knee injuries. Justin Keller kicked field goals of 31, 40 and 36 yards for the Redhawks. He connected with freshman Rashawn Cunningham for a 16-yard score in the first quarter and the duo made repeated the connection on a 14-yard score later in the second quarter. After CSU had fallen behind 24-14, Osborne led scoring drives of 75 and 80 yards in the second half, connecting on scores of 42 and 30 yards to Jamil Bishop.   Kekoa Visperas passed for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead undefeated Tennessee Tech to a 52-28 win over Lindenwood on Saturday in a game that endured two lengthy weather delays. Tennessee Tech (7-0, 4-0), ranked No. 8 in the FCS coaches' poll, is the last unbeaten team in the OVC-Big South Association. The victory clinched a second consecutive winning season for the first time since 2000-2001. The Golden Eagles have the longest active win streak in the FCS at 12 games.

The Eagles led 17-14 after Q'Daryius Jennings' 14-yard touchdown run late in the second half then pulled away with 21 points in the third quarter and 14 more in the final period. Visperas was 16 of 22 for 173 yards passing. Quintell Quinn rushed for 133 yards including a 58-yard score. Nate Glantz was 19-of-38 passing for 294 yards and four touchdowns for the Lions (3-4, 2-1). Jalen Smith had 102 yards receiving but the Lions rushed for only 17 yards. - AP College Football

Osborne threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Jamil Bishop to pull Charleston Southern to 24-21 midway through the third quarter. The pair connected for a 30-yarder to end the scoring with about 13 minutes remaining. Western Illinois punted twice and then couldn't convert on fourth-and-1 from the Charleston Southern 28 with 1:22 left.

Osborne was 14-of-26 passing for 262 yards. Bishop finished with three catches for 80 yards. Rashawn Cunningham had four receptions for 95 yards and a pair of TD catches for the Buccaneers (2-6, 1-3 OVC-Big South). Carson Carswell completed 34 of 51 passes for 375 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for Western Illinois (1-7, 0-4), which has lost five straight.
