  Victor Gabalis threw three touchdown passes and Tarleton State beat North Dakota 31-13 in the second round of the FCS playoffs on Saturday, tying a program record with its 12th win this season. The fourth-seeded Texans (12-1), will host 12th-seeded Villanova next week in the quarterfinals. Villanova beat No. 5 seed Lehigh 14-7 on Saturday. The Texans have been in the playoffs in their first two years of playoff eligibility since completing Division I reclassification. Last season, they beat Drake in the first round before losing to South Dakota. They had a bye to the second round this season. Gabalis found Peyton Kramer deep down the middle for a 64-yard score and a 21-7 lead early in the third quarter.

Brad Larson extended the lead with his third field goal Sawyer Seidl's second TD run cut the lead to 11, but Gabalis hit Marquis Willis in stride down the right sideline for a 77-score early in the fourth quarter. Tarleton State led 13-7 at halftime on Gabalis' 3-yard pass to T'iar Young inside the right pylon and two field goals. Gabalis was 15-of-25 passing for 292 yards with an interception. Willis had 133 yards receiving and Tylan Hines totaled 120 yards rushing on 28 carries. Jerry Kaminski threw for 112 yards with two interceptions and rushed for 63 yards for the unseeded Fighting Hawks (8-6). Seidl had two short TD runs. The Texans are 7-0 at home this season and have nine straight home victories. - AP College Football

  Victor Gabalis threw four touchdown passes, Tylan Hines had TD runs of 18 and 17 yards and Tarleton State beat North Alabama 61-0 on Saturday night. Gabalais was 12-of-16 passing for 282 yards and threw two interceptions. Hines returned from an injury suffered in a season-opening win over Portland State on Aug. 23 and finished with 80 yards rushing on 12 carries. Peyton Kramer three receptions for 128 yards for Tarleton State (10-1, 6-1 United Athletic Conference). Gabalis threw a 78-yard touchdown pass to Kramer on the Texans' second offensive play from scrimmage and added scoring strikes to Danny Joiner, Trevon West and Cody Jackson.

Back-up quarterback Daniel Greek completed each of his six passes for 84 yards and threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Bryce Parker. James Paige capped the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run. North Alabama (2-9, 1-6) finished with 145 total yards and committed six turnovers. Tarleton State, ranked No. 5 in the FCS coaches poll, rebounded from a last-second 31-28 loss at Abilene Christian on Nov. 1 and is tied with the Wildcats atop the conference. - AP College Football

  Kaden Anderson threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns and Wyoming beat Colorado State 28-0 on Saturday night. Landon Sims got the scoring started when he crashed in from the 1 with 2:43 left in the first quarter. Anderson's 22-yard touchdown pass to Michael Fitzgerald 45 seconds into the second quarter made it 14-0. Then, 36 seconds before halftime, Anderson threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Chris Durr Jr. Sam Scott made it a four-touchdown lead with a 37-yard scoring run with 10:15 left in the third. Darius Curry threw for 112 yards for Colorado State. Reserve Jackson Brousseau threw three interceptions. Wyoming (4-4, 2-2 Mountain West Conference) has won two of its last three following a three-game losing streak. The last time the Rams were shutout was the beginning of the 2024 season when No. 4 Texas beat them, 52-0 in Austin, Texas on Aug. 31.   Ean Rodrigue threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score, Miequle Brock Jr. added 104 yards rushing and Nicolls beat McNeese 31-7 on Saturday night. Rodrigue completed 12 of 20 passes for 161 yards and added 77 yards on 12 carries for Nicholls (2-6, 2-2 Southland Conference). He broke loose on a 34-yard touchdown run on the game's opening drive, and his 69-yard touchdown pass to Karaaz Johnson capped the scoring with about 12 minutes to play. Ty Marsh also had a 45-yard pick-6 for the Colonels, who snapped a six-game losing streak. Jake Strong threw a 20-yard touchdown pass up the middle to Logan Mauldin for McNeese (2-6, 1-3).   Daniel Greek ran for two short touchdowns to help undefeated Tarleton State beat Eastern Kentucky 31-7 on Saturday. Tarleton State (8-0, 5-0 United Athletic Conference), ranked No. 3 in the FCS coaches poll, is off to its best start since it won 11 straight to open the 2019, its last in Division II. The Texans, who forced four EKU turnovers, have the nation's (FCS and FBS) best turnover margin at plus-24. No other team was better than plus-13 going into Saturday. The Colonels (3-5, 1-3) had their 10-game home win streak snapped which dated 33-30 overtime loss to Austin Peay on Nov. 4, 2023.

James Paige scored on a 1-yard run to cap a six-play, 60-yard drive to open the second half and, after the Colonels went three-and-out, Victor Gabalis threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to T'iar Young. On the next play from scrimmage, Robert Rios forced a fumble that was recovered by Jadan Aubert to set up an eight-play, 30-yard drive that culminated when Greek's second 1-yard TD run capped the scoring with 44 seconds left in the third quarter. Corbin Poston kicked a 42-yard field goal in the second quarter. Brayden Latham scored on a 2-yard run for Eastern Kentucky (3-5, 1-3) that made it 7-7 early in the second quarter.   Victor Gabalis threw three touchdown passes, James Paige and Tre Page III combined for 198 yards rushing and two scores and undefeated Tarleton State rolled to a 45-10 victory over West Georgia on Saturday night. Gabalis completed 13 of 24 passes for 268 yards and connected with three receivers for touchdowns. Cody Jackson led with four receptions for 78 yards that included a 16-yard touchdown catch for Tarleton State (8-0, 4-0 United Athletic Conference), ranked third in the FCS coaches' poll.

Marquis Willis had a 26-yard touchdown catch for the Texans and T'iar Young's 75-yarder made it 38-10 early in the fourth quarter. Paige finished with 106 yards rushing with a short-yardage touchdown. Page had 92 yards and a 39-yard touchdown run. Davin Wydner was 11-of-23 passing for 118 yards with a touchdown and interception for West Georgia (5-3, 2-3), which has lost three straight after opening its season 5-0. - AP College Football

  James Paige ran and four touchdowns and added a 4-yard TD pass to Danny Joiner to help Tarleton State beat Utah Tech 34-23 on Saturday night. Paige, who is listed on the roster as a quarterback, had 30 carries for 114 yards. Daniel Greek made his second consecutive start was 13-of-21 passing for 169 yards and his 2-yard TD run capped the scoring with 53 points. Tarleton State (7-0, 3-0 United Athletic Conference) has won seven games in a row, their longest winning streak since moving to Division I in 2020. The Texans had their streak of four consecutive games scoring at least 50 points snapped.

Paige scored on a 1-yard run to make it 7-7 about five minutes into the game and his scoring pass to Joiner capped a 17-play, 98-yard drive that took eight minutes, 45 seconds off the clock and gave the Texans the lead for good with 10 seconds left in the first quarter. The Texans, ranked No. 3 in the FCS coaches poll, played without quarterback Victor Gabalis - the unanimous pick for the conference's preseason offensive player of the year - and running backs Tre Page III & Caleb Lewis due to injuries. Page and Lewis have combined for 1,056 yards rushing and 15 TDs this season. Ilya Uvaydov made field goals of 35, 37 and 37 yards for Utah Tech (1-5, 0-2).   WEEK 4 UNITED ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tarleton State's Corbin Poston, the Texans' junior kicker, drilled a pair of long field goals on Saturday in a perfect 2-for-2 performance that was part of a dominating win. He made one from 50 yards and the other from 49 yards, which were the two longest field goals made in the league on the day. He also booted seven of his 10 kickoffs into the endzone for touchbacks with the kicks covering 608 yards (60.8 yd avg).   Jackson Gilkey threw two touchdown passes, Davion Godley ran for 193 yards and a score and Weber State jumped out early and held off Butler for a 38-24 victory on Saturday night. Godley scored on a 15-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter and Gilkey threw a 20-yard touchdown pass each to AJ Jayroe and Ammon Munyer to help Weber State take a 27-7 lead in the second quarter before Butler cut the deficit to 27-17 at the break.

Gabe Passini threw a 32-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter, and led the Butler (2-2) rushing attack with 23 carries for 175 yards that included a 12-yard touchdown early in the fourth to pull the Bulldogs to 30-24. Chauncey Sylvester's 3-yard touchdown run with 2:54 left capped a 6-play, 64-yard drive for Weber State (2-2). Gilkey finished 14-of-25 passing for 185 yards. Passini threw for 51 yards and added 175 yards rushing on 23 carries that included a 12-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter.   Peyton Kramer celebrated his birthday with three touchdowns and 190 receiving yards in Tarleton State's 52-24 victory over Chattanooga on Saturday. Kramer averaged 27.1 yards on seven receptions. The Texans (5-0) scored on several long plays in taking a 31-14 halftime lead. Victor Gabalis and Peyton Kramer connected on a 68-yard touchdown pass, Tre Page III had a 48-yard touchdown run and Kramer caught a 39-yard TD pass from Daniel Greek.

Even two of Corbin Poston's three first-half field goals were from distance, hitting from 49 and 50 yards. The Texans had 406 yards of offense in the first half. They entered with the No. 3 scoring offense in the FCS at 46.8 points per game and the No. 3 scoring defense at 10.0 ppg. Gabalis left the game with a foot or toe injury after completing 9 of 14 passes for 190 yards, including the touchdown to Kramer. (Pine Forest HS),...Brock scored both of the Colonels' touchdowns at Troy and totaled more than 100 yards of offense. He gave Nicholls a 10-0 lead on a 3-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, then caught a short pass early in the third and raced 58 yards for his second score of the night. Gabalis completed 9 of 14 passes for 171 yards. He threw a pair of scores to Dawson Hearne and one to Marquis Willis to help Tarleton State (4-0, 1-0) stake a 42-7 lead at the break. Gabalis tossed just two passes in the second half. Lewis finished with 60 yards rushing on 20 carries. Tre Page III added 82 yards on the ground on 18 carries to lead the Texans. James Paige also had a touchdown run. Luther Richesson completed 12 of 21 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown for Central Arkansas (1-2, 0-1).   Jackson Gilkey accounted for 332 yards of offense with a pair of touchdowns and Weber State held off McNeese 42-41 on Saturday night for its first win of the season. BJ Carey's 42-yard interception return for a touchdown stretched Weber State's (1-2) lead to 42-21 with 9:45 remaining before McNeese (1-2) scored three unanswered touchdowns. Tre'Vonte Citizen answered Carey's pick-6 with a 79-yard touchdown run on the next play from scrimmage and then Jake Strong tossed a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jonathan Harris with 4:56 left. Strong capped the scoring with a 19-yard TD run with 42 seconds to play.

Gilkey completed 11 of 20 passes for 218 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. He ran for a 50-yard touchdown in the second quarter and finished with 114 yards rushing on 15 carries. Strong was 20-of-39 passing for 278 yards and threw two touchdown passes but was picked off twice. He added 45 yards rushing on nine carries with two TD runs. Citizen had 11 carries for 117 yards.   Victor Gabalis threw five of Tarleton State's six touchdown passes and the Texans beat Mississippi Valley State 59-3 Saturday night. The victory for the Texans (3-0), ranked No. 3 in the FCS coaches poll, comes a week after beating Army at West Point 30-27 in double-overtime. Gabalis' five TD passes are the most for a Texans quarterback since the program moved up to Division I in 2020. He was 20 of 27 for 295 yards. Daniel Greek had the other TD pass.

Bryce Parker caught two touchdown passes and Trevon West finished with 135 yards receiving on six receptions. The Texans had 460 yards offense to 244 for the Delta Devils (1-1), who had just 50 yards on the ground. The Delta Devils had five turnovers that led to 21 points, including Jaden Aubert's 68-yard pick-6 for the game's final points. The Texans scored 24 points in the second quarter for a 31-7 halftime lead before adding 28 points in the third quarter. - AP College Football
