Tyler Van Dyke threw for three touchdowns and 381 yards and Miami wrapped up the regular season by winning for the fifth time in its last six games, beating Duke 47-10 on Saturday. Charleston Rambo caught two of the touchdown passes on a record-setting day. Miami (7-5, 5-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) broke away with a 20-point second quarter for a 30-10 halftime lead. The Hurricanes outgained Duke 356-85 in the first half. Duke (3-9, 0-8), which lost its eighth game in a row, finished with its first winless ACC record since 2007. Its losing streak in conference games is now 13. Duke has won just six of its last 29 games. Rambo, a transfer from Oklahoma, set the single-season school record for Miami with 79 receptions. He passed Leonard Hankerson's 72 from 2010 in the opening minute of the second quarter on a 12-yard touchdown catch.

In the third quarter, Rambo's 14-yard touchdown catch set the single-season school record for receiving yards and stretched that mark to 1,172. He finished with 101 on eight catches. Miami's Mike Harley set the single-game school record with 13 receptions, racking up 96 yards on those. Van Dyke was 34-for-49. Andy Borregales kick field goals of 35, 29, 25 and 43 yards for the Hurricanes. The highlight for Duke was Jaylen Stinson's 94-yard kickoff return for a 10-3 lead. Duke running back Mataeo Durant became the school's single-season rushing record-holder at 1,241 yards. He had 68 yards on 22 carries, needing 64 to set the mark. Tyler Van Dyke passed for 357 yards and three touchdowns, the last of them a 55-yarder to Mike Harley with 10:39 remaining that helped Miami hold off Virginia Tech 38-26 on Saturday night. The win ensured Miami (6-5, 4-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) will be bowl-eligible. It also ended a six-game run of the Hurricanes playing games decided by no more than four points. Van Dyke - who also had a 75-yard touchdown throw to Brashard Smith - became the first Miami quarterback with multiple TD passes of at least 55 yards in an ACC game since Brad Kaaya did it against Duke on Nov. 26, 2016.

Will Mallory also caught a scoring pass for Miami and Jaylan Knighton had two short touchdown runs for the Hurricanes. Mallory had a 72-yard touchdown called back as well and Van Dyke completed 19 of 33 passes. Connor Blumrick had two touchdown passes for Virginia Tech (5-6, 3-4), along with a team-best 132 rushing yards in the debut of interim coach J.C. Price. Starting quarterback Braxton Burmeister also had a scoring throw for the Hokies, who trailed 31-13 early in the second half before - aided by a successful onside kick - getting within 31-26 late in the third quarter. Alex Padilla threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in his first career start, and No. 19 Iowa withstood three fourth-quarter comeback attempts to beat Minnesota 27-22 on Saturday. The Hawkeyes (8-2, 5-2 Big Ten) led 24-16 before Minnesota's Tanner Morgan threw a 68-yard touchdown pass to Chris Autman-Bell with 5:28 to play. The Gophers (6-4, 4-3) went for the two-point conversion, but Morgan's pass was tipped by Iowa safety Dane Belton and fell incomplete. The Gophers got the ball back at their own 10-yard line with 3:08 left. Morgan was sacked for a 7-yard loss on second down, and his fourth-down pass was broken up by Iowa's Matt Hankins.

Caleb Shudak's 29-yard field goal provided the final margin, and then the Hawkeyes' defense bowed up one more time when Minnesota drove to the Iowa 39. The game ended with Joe Evans sacking Morgan. Padilla's 1-yard touchdown dive in the second quarter put Iowa up 10-3. He threw a 72-yard touchdown pass to Charlie Jones early in the third quarter to give the Hawkeyes a 17-13 lead. "Going out there in the first half, seeing the entire crowd in Kinnick for my first start, (I was) just super excited," Padilla said. "Couldn't imagine being in this position when I was a kid, but it was something I have always dreamed of." Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said among the players and coaches, there wasn't much talk about Padilla getting the start. "We just acted like it was his turn, his time. He is the starter this week," Ferentz said. "He's an even-keeled guy, as you've seen. I thought he did a good job." Alex Padilla could feel the jitters when he got the call to go into the game. Once he stepped on the field, he sure looked comfortable, though. Padilla took over for the banged-up Spencer Petras and led three scoring drives, Tyler Goodson ran for 141 yards and a touchdown and No. 19 Iowa beat Northwestern 17-12 on Saturday night to stop a two-game losing streak. "Definitely some nerves," Padilla said. "There were definitely some of those. Just excited. I have a great group of guys around me. They make my job easy. Just excited to get in there and play some." The Hawkeyes (7-2, 4-2 Big Ten) got the bounce-back win they were seeking coming off lopsided losses to Purdue and Wisconsin that sent them tumbling 17 spots in the AP poll, though it wasn't exactly a breeze. Northwestern (3-6, 1-5) pulled to 17-12 with 2:21 remaining on Andrew Marty's 31-yard touchdown pass to Evan Hull and quickly got the ball back after Iowa went three and out. But Dane Belton immediately sealed it with his second interception, sending the Wildcats to their third straight loss.

Padilla, a sophomore, led two touchdown drives in the first half in his first extensive look after Iowa went nowhere on its first three possessions. And the Hawkeyes won for the first time since beating Penn State on Oct. 9, after getting outscored 51-14 over the previous two games. "It felt great," Belton said. "That's what you play for. You love the game and you love to celebrate victories. ... That's football. That's college football. And for us to be able to do that as a team is the biggest thing overall." Padilla came in late in the first quarter and completed 18 of 28 passes for 172 yards. Tyler Van Dyke threw three touchdown passes, Charleston Rambo had 210 receiving yards to nearly break the Miami single-game record and the Hurricanes continued their second-half surge with a 33-30 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday. Van Dyke completed 22 of 34 passes for 389 yards, becoming the first Miami quarterback since Bernie Kosar in 1984 with three games of at least 325 yards through the air. Rambo had seven catches, falling just 10 yards shy of matching the Miami record of 220 yards set by Eddie Brown in 1984. Jaylan Knighton ran for a career-best 162 yards and a score for Miami (5-4, 3-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), which won its third straight.

Keyshawn Smith's touchdown catch with 10:27 left put Miami ahead for good, and Mike Harley also had a scoring grab for the Hurricanes - who have now played five consecutive games decided by four points or less, and a nation-leading six such games this season. Miami freshman Tyler Van Dyke outdueled Heisman Trophy candidate Kenny Pickett, throwing for 428 yards and three touchdowns as the Hurricanes beat Pickett and No. 17 Pittsburgh 38-34 on Saturday. Van Dyke completed 31 of 41 passes for the three scores and an interception as Miami (4-4, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) defeated a ranked opponent for a second straight week. Pickett bolstered his Heisman resume by throwing for a school-record 519 yards and four touchdowns, but he also threw his second and third interceptions of the season, both of which led to huge momentum shifts.

The first - by Miami's Tyrique Stevenson in the second quarter - led to a Jaylan Knighton 1-yard touchdown run that gave the Hurricanes a 31-17 halftime lead. The second - by freshman safety James Williams - came with 4:07 to play and Pitt driving for a go-ahead touchdown. Pickett threw behind star wide receiver Jordan Addison and Williams made a diving grab at the Miami 4. An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the Hurricanes pushed the ball back to the Miami 2. Pitt nearly stuffed Knighton for a safety but the officials ruled Knighton advanced out of the end zone. The call stood upon review and the Hurricanes ran out the clock. Tyler Van Dyke backed up his words. And Miami took a big step toward potentially salvaging its season. Van Dyke passed for 325 yards and four touchdowns, two of them to Charleston Rambo, to lead the Hurricanes past No. 18 N.C. State 31-30 on Saturday night - snapping what was a six-game losing streak against Power 5 opponents. The freshman, who started this season backing up the now-injured D'Eriq King, said earlier in the week that he didn't think N.C. State could stop Miami's offense. And after completing 25 of 33 passes, he proved himself right. "How about Tyler Van Dyke? I mean, it's unbelievable," Miami coach Manny Diaz said. "Third conference game. And that defense is a hell of a defense. I mean, no one moves the ball on them." Correction: No one had.

Jaylan Knighton had 166 total yards - 83 rushing, 83 more receiving - and a touchdown catch for Miami (3-4, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference). Rambo finished with nine catches for 127 yards and Will Mallory had a touchdown grab for the Hurricanes. Devin Leary threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns, plus ran for another for N.C. State. Thayer Thomas had both touchdown receptions for the Wolfpack (5-2, 2-1). "Obviously, we're very emotional, disappointed," N.C. State coach Dave Doeren said. "Gotta give Miami credit. We didn't make the plays we needed to make that we've been making and we helped them at some key moments."
