Oregon linebacker Isaac Slade-Matautia announced Friday that he has entered the NCAA transfer portal with the intention of playing his final collegiate season somewhere else. Slade-Matautia, the Ducks leading tackler last season and a starter the past two years, was a productive leader on the program's back-to-back Pac-12 championship teams. "These are milestones and memories I will cherish forever," Slade-Matautia posted on social media. "Nothing will ever replace those experiences, relationships, and memories I've had here." Oregon's recent success on the recruiting trail means Slade-Matautia will likely be replaced in the heart of new defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter's unit by a five-star recruit. Slade-Matautia had 3.5 tackles for loss and a sack last season. The fifth-year junior had 127 tackles, 12.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in 28 career games for the Ducks. - Register Guard

Another University of Miami football starter is on the mend - and is doubtful for the Sept. 4 season opener against defending national champion Alabama. The Miami Herald learned Saturday through multiple sources that Hurricanes left guard Jakai Clark, who started 22 games on the offensive line the past two seasons, was in a car accident the night of the April 17 spring game. Clark started in the spring game. Clark, listed as 6-3 and 305 pounds, had surgery earlier this week to repair the AC joint in his right shoulder and was told he would be out three to four months. A UM source confirmed that Clark was recuperating from surgery after the car accident. Likely starting in his place would be 6-5, 325-pound second-year freshman Jalen Rivers out of Jacksonville Oakleaf High, who did very well during spring practice and was battling Clark for the starting job. - Miami Herald

Washington State will be replacing not just one, but both of its all-conference specialists in 2021. Blake Mazza, who was WSU's placekicker from 2018-20, announced Wednesday he'd be leaving the Cougars in order to play one final college football season closer to his hometown of Plano, Texas. Mazza's redshirt sophomore season in 2019 went down as the best by a WSU kicker in school history. He made his first 18 field goals of the season, set a program record for field goal percentage by making 20 of 21 and went 55 of 57 on PATs. - Spokesman-Review

Tre Siggers emerged as an elite player at North Texas on the turf at Ford Stadium in a loss to SMU, the Mean Green's biggest rival. That's where one of UNT's most productive running backs in recent years will finish his career. Siggers entered the NCAA transfer portal on Friday and landed at SMU just a few hours later. Siggers spent four seasons at UNT and redshirted in his freshman campaign in 2017. The former Duncanville standout posted one of his more memorable performances two years later after UNT elected to move him from safety to running back. - Denton Record

SMU football added former Oklahoma TE Grant Calcaterra today, according to a post from Calcaterra's Twitter. He previously committed to Auburn in December of 2020, but withdrew that commitment following the firing of head coach Gus Malzahn. Calcaterra played three seasons with the Sooners, and was a starter. He recorded nine touchdown in his 41 receptions and had 637 career receiving yards. He played a big role, securing two touchdowns in the Big 12 title game in 2018.   SMU wide receiver Reggie Roberson Jr. announced via Twitter on Monday that he will come back for a final season with the Mustangs. Roberson has been one of SMU's most explosive players during his tenure but has been sidelined by two season-ending injuries the past two years. Roberson likely would have been an NFL draft prospect this offseason if not for a season-ending knee injury he suffered in the third quarter of the Mustangs' Oct. 3 game against Memphis. Similarly, he went down with a season-ending foot injury the previous October. It's unclear where Roberson is in his recovery and if he would have been able to participate in any of the pre-draft showcase events. The transfer from West Virginia has broken out in his three years with SMU, hauling in 2,079 yards in 22 games. He's averaging 17.8 yards per catch during his career. In that game against Memphis, he had 243 receiving yards on just five receptions. - Dallas Morning News

Former All-Big 12 tight end Grant Calcaterra won't be transferring to Auburn after all. The former Oklahoma standout, who signed with Auburn as a transfer during December's early signing period, announced on Friday evening that he will not be playing for the Tigers next season and will seek to finish out his college career at another program. A 6-foot-4, 242-pounder originally from California, Calcaterra planned to come to Auburn as a graduate transfer. He has not played in a college game since Oct. 5, 2019, when injuries cut his junior season short that year. He then stepped away from football due to a series of concussions he sustained during his career, but he had a chance of heart this fall and decided to pursue a return to the field as a transfer in 2021. - Birmingham News
