  NOV 18 MISSOURI VALLEY OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: RB D.J. Davis, Southern Illinois, 5-8, 170, Sr., Pompano Beach, Fla. (American Heritage),...Davis rushed for a career-high 208 yards on 31 carries in SIU's 45-21 win over Western Illinois. He scored two touchdowns, averaged 6.7 yards per carry and had a long of 53. It marked the second time in his career that Davis has topped 200 rushing yards. He also had 201 yards against South Dakota State in 2018. Davis is one of only two Saluki players to rush for 200 yards in a game in the last 10 years, and he's only the second MVFC running back this year to eclipse 200 yards in a game. He did it on just 19 carries for a 7.8 average with a long of 35. Williams scored three rushing TDs on rushes of 1, 8 and 2 yards.   NOV 11 OVC NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK: Jaelin Benefield, RB, 5-10, 160, Fr., Pearland, Texas, Eastern Illinois,...Benefield accounted for 137 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns as Eastern Illinois picked up its first victory of the season, 49-38 at Tennessee State. The freshman carried the ball 14 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns (averaging 7.5 yards/carry) and caught four passes for 32 yards and another score.

Benefield scored on a 45-yard run in the first quarter to give his team an early lead. Late in the third quarter with his team trailing by 10, he caught a 19-yard touchdown pass to pull EIU within three points. In the fourth quarter he scored on a nine-yard run to put the game out of reach. Entering the game EIU had not had a 100-yard rusher all season but both Benefield and Darshon McCullough (155 yards) hit the century mark, marking the 23rd time in school history a pair of running back rushed for 100-plus yards in the same game.
