South Carolina's home game with South Carolina State has been moved up from Saturday to Thursday night due the approach of Hurricane Ian. South Carolina athletic director Ray Tanner announced the switch Tuesday. The approaching storm is expected to make landfall in Florida this week. "Due to the potential impact of the hurricane on Columbia and the surrounding area, it is in the best interest of safety to play the game on Thursday rather than Saturday afternoon," Tanner said in a statement. South Carolina had spoken with the office of Gov. Henry McMaster and other state officials, state and local law enforcement who routinely help at games. Tanner said he was confident they could safely host the game Thursday night at Williams-Brice Stadium. A planned reunion of the 2010-2013 football teams coached by Steve Spurrier was postponed. - AP College Football

Southern California is the fourth team since at least 2012 to not commit a turnover through its first four games, according to Sportradar. The Trojans have run 269 offensive plays and returned five kicks and three punts over four games without a fumble or interception. Michigan went turnover-free through four games last year. Jordan Addison caught a go-ahead 21-yard touchdown pass with 1:13 left and No. 7 USC overcame a shaky performance for a 17-14 victory over Oregon State on Saturday night. The Beavers, vying to start 4-0 for the first time since 2012, took the lead on Jam Griffin's 18-yard touchdown run with 4:41 remaining. But USC quarterback Caleb Williams led an 11-play, 84-yard drive that ended with Addison's sixth touchdown catch of the season. The Trojans (4-0, 2-0 Pac-12) did not look like the team that dominated its first three opponents with 40 or more points per game. Williams threw for a season-low 180 yards. Addison, the 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner who transferred from Pitt, caught three passes for 42 yards. Chance Nolan threw for 167 yards for the Beavers (3-1, 0-1) but was intercepted four times. The Trojans were uncharacteristically sluggish from the start. Oregon State stopped USC on downs on its opening series. On the second drive, Denis Lynch's 36-yard field goal attempt went wide left.

Deshaun Fenwick's 4-yard touchdown run put the Beavers up 7-0 early in the second quarter. It was his fourth TD of the season. Oregon State appeared headed back to the end zone but Nolan was intercepted by Erik Gentry. The Trojans capitalized, going 41 yards on seven plays and finishing with Lynch's 42-yard field goal to narrow it to 7-3 at halftime. Kitan Oladapo sacked Williams on third down for a loss of 11 yards, stalling a USC drive on the Oregon State 45 and forcing a punt. But USC answered. Nolan was intercepted by Ceyair Wright, who ran it back to the Oregon State 26. The Trojans finished the drive with Travis Dye's 7-yard scoring run to put USC back in front 10-7. Oregon State was called for a pair of penalties on the ensuing drive and Everett Hayes' 46-yard field goal attempt to tie it with 8:34 to go went right. Oregon State benefited with good field position from USC's punt out of the end zone, and Griffin rushed 18 yards for a touchdown that gave the Beavers back the lead with 4:41 to go. Marshawn Lloyd ran for a career-high 169 yards and three touchdowns as South Carolina scored on its first eight possessions to put away Charlotte 56-20 on Saturday night. The win ended a two-game losing streak for the Gamecocks (2-2) - and was a welcome performance for an offense stuck near the bottom of the Southeastern Conference this season. Lloyd had scoring runs of 25, 14 and 7 yards, the first two that left fans' jaws dropped and Charlotte defenders in disbelief. On the first, Lloyd cleanly hurdled safety Wayne Jones in the open field on the way to the end zone. On his second, Lloyd was stood up for what looked like a short gain before breaking free to put South Carolina ahead 28-14.

Lloyd had some help on the last, converting after Gamecocks linebacker Brad Johnson intercepted Charlotte's Chris Reynolds deep in 49ers territory. Lloyd calmly found the end zone a final time and finished with South Carolina's most rushing yards since Kevin Harris gained 182 against North Carolina in its 38-21 Duke's Mayo Bowl victory last New Year's Eve. Charlotte (1-4) of Conference USA entered with the country's 30th best passing attack at 289 yards a game and the one of the worst rushing defenses (129 out of 131) in the NCAA at 243 yards allowed per game. Caleb Williams threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns and ran for two more scores, Travis Dye and Austin Jones each ran for more than 100 yards and No. 7 Southern California beat Fresno State 45-17 on Saturday night. Williams completed 25 of 37 passes for the Trojans, who have scored at least 45 points in each of the first three games under Lincoln Riley. Dye had his second straight 100-yard game with 102 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown while Jones had 12 carries for 110 yards and a score. It is the first time since 2018 that USC (3-0) has had a pair of running backs reach the century mark in a game. The Bulldogs (1-2) suffered a bigger loss though than the game. Quarterback Jake Haener sustained a right leg injury during the third quarter and was carted off. The Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year had his leg bend awkwardly while being sacked by Solomon Byrd at the Fresno State 46. Byrd also recovered Haener's fumble.

Haener returned to sideline the on crutches and with his right foot in a boot. The senior was 10 of 17 for 117 yards with a touchdown and interception before the injury. Jordan Mims had 114 yards rushing. USC scored on its first three drives to build a 21-3 advantage midway through the second quarter. After the Trojans won the coin toss, Williams rolled right and connected with Jordan Addison for a 3-yard TD to complete a 12-play opening possession that took nearly five minutes. The sophomore then scored his first two rushing TDs in a USC uniform. Williams had an 8-yard scramble late in the first quarter to make it 14-0. Following a field goal by Fresno State's Abraham Montano, Williams capped a 15-play drive with a 1-yard sneak. Fresno State closed within 21-10 with 6:30 remaining in the first half after Erik Brooks scored on a 39-yard touchdown pass. Brooks caught a quick slant from Haener at the 35, caused Calen Bullock to miss a tackle and then outran the USC defense into the end zone. - USC/AP College Football

Caleb Williams threw for 341 yards and four touchdowns, with two of those going to Jordan Addison, leading No. 10 Southern California past Stanford 41-28 on Saturday night in the Pac-12 opener. Addison wound up with seven catches for 172 yards and Travis Dye ran for 105 yards and a touchdown, while the Trojans' opportunistic defense shined again with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries - four turnovers that led to 17 points. Dominant USC (2-0, 1-0 Pac-12) didn't have a third-down play until 52 seconds before halftime and punted for the first time with 8:02 left. Williams completed 20 of 27 - 13 of his first 15 - throws and Dye ran for a 27-yard score in a first half that featured 685 yards of offense between the teams. Williams then hit Addison for a 48-yard gain right out of halftime that set up Denis Lynch's 45-yard field goal. Lynch later missed wide left from 39 yards before hitting from 42 yards.

Early in the second quarter, Williams connected on back-to-back passes to Mario Williams - first a 43-yard completion that set up their 15-yard scoring play. Lake McRee caught the first TD pass of the day by Williams, a 5-yarder, as the Trojans notched their second lopsided win so far after a 66-14 thumping of Rice in the season opener. With Williams' 19-for-22 performance in that one, the sophomore star has now completed 39 of 49 passes for 590 yards in two games. USC's defense has forced eight total turnovers this season. Stanford quarterback Tanner McKee threw an interception on his third play from scrimmage for Stanford (1-1, 0-1) that Max Williams tipped and caught before returning it 32 yards. Then McKee threw another pick Cain the end zone by Mekhi Blackmon on 4th-and-2 with a chance to tie the game. The Cardinal capitalized on their next chance when McKee connected on a 3-yard TD pass to E.J. Smith to cap a seven-play, 93-yard drive that got Stanford within 14-7. Caleb Williams passed for 249 yards, rushed for 68 more and hit Jordan Addison for two touchdowns, and coach Lincoln Riley's tenure at No. 14 Southern California got off to a roaring start with a 66-14 victory over Rice on Saturday. Calen Bullock, Shane Lee and Ralen Goforth returned three of USC's four interceptions for touchdowns. The Trojans scored more points in Riley's debut than they did in any game under Clay Helton, who was fired last season before a powerhouse program sank to its worst record in 30 years. With Williams going 19 for 22 while leading six consecutive scoring drives to open the game, USC had its highest-scoring performance since 2008, when the program still reigned near the top of college football under Pete Carroll.

Riley and Williams left Oklahoma during the offseason and reunited in Los Angeles to rebuild the Trojans, who are hoping for a swift return to regular national title contention. They appear to have the talent to do it all on offense: Stanford transfer Austin Jones and freshman Raleek Brown rushed for touchdowns, while Addison - last season's Biletnikoff Award winner at Pitt - scored on USC's opening drive and finished with five catches for 54 yards. ESPN TOP 100 PRESEASON 2022 CFB PLAYERS (Selected Aug. 17): No. 10. Caleb Williams, QB, USC, Sophomore. Notable 2021 stats: 1,912 yards, 21 TDs. Last year's ranking: NR. What Williams can do on the field is evident. But perhaps his biggest strength is the fact that the heightened hype around him doesn't seem to make him uncomfortable. USC has been missing a player with -- and this is meant as a compliment -- this kind of irrational confidence. ESPN TOP 100 PRESEASON 2022 CFB PLAYERS (Selected Aug. 17): No. 9. Jordan Addison, WR, USC, Junior. Notable 2021 stats: 1,593 yards, 17 TDs. Last year's ranking: NR. Addison was the addition who seemed to swing USC from being dangerous this coming season to potentially being a problem for teams beyond the Pac-12. Can a wide receiver add that much value? It's hard to argue that he can't given he was the best wideout in the country and is about to play in a better offense and with a better quarterback. One thing USC hasn't lacked even during its down years is elite wide receiver talent -- JuJu Smith-Schuster, Michael Pittman, Drake London. None of them, however, won a Biletnikoff like Addison just did. - ESPN.com
