  OCT 28 OVC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Omardrick Douglas, OLB, 6-3, 234, Jr., Louisville, Ky., Southeast Missouri,...With the game tied, Douglas picked off a pass and returned it 32 yards for a touchdown with 5:32 to play to help Southeast Missouri to a 17-10 victory over UT Martin. The junior also added three tackles and blocked a Skyhawks 26-yard field goal attempt early in the second quarter to keep the score at 7-3. Douglas was part of a defense that forced a season-high five turnovers, had five sacks and shutout UTM in the second half.   Omardrick Douglas' 32-yard interception return for a touchdown late in the game gave his team the win as Southeast Missouri State rallied in the second half to edge UT Martin 17-10 on Saturday. Douglas picked off UTM's John Bachus III and ran for the winning score with 5:32 remaining in the fourth quarter. Later, Bydarrius Knighten intercepted Bachus again with two seconds left to seal the victory. Daniel Santacaterina had 127 yards passing for the Redhawks (5-3, 3-1 Ohio Valley Conference). Backup QB Joe Pyle replaced Santacaterina in the second half and ran for a score.

Kendrick Tiller kicked a 29-yard field goal late in the first quarter but UTM answered with a touchdown and a field goal and the Redhawks trailed 10-3 at halftime. Pyle broke for his 61-yard touchdown run on the third play of the second half, evening the score 10-all. UTM's Ryan Courtright missed a 23-yard field goal late in the third quarter and Tiller had a 46-yard attempt blocked early in the fourth. The win snapped JSU's 32-game regular season home winning streak, gave SEMO back-to-back wins over the Gamecocks and marked the program's first win in Jacksonville since 1964. His forced fumble came deep in JSU territory in the third quarter and led to a Southeast Missouri field goal five plays later as the team took a 10-7 lead (and never trailed again). Swift keyed a defense that shutout the Gamecocks for two quarters while recording a season-best four takeaways.   OCT 21 OVC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kristian Wilkerson, WR, 6-1, 214, Sr., Memphis, Tenn., Southeast Missouri,...Wilkerson had three catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns, including an 80-yarder with four minutes to play in the game that helped seal Southeast Missouri's 24-21 win over No. 14 Jacksonville State. The win snapped JSU's 32-game regular season home winning streak, gave SEMO back-to-back wins over the Gamecocks and marked the program's first win in Jacksonville since 1964.

On a rainy day, Wilkerson caught a 15-yard touchdown with 1:07 left before halftime to open the scoring. With Southeast holding a 10-7 lead late in the fourth quarter he streaked for the 80-yard score, the fourth-longest touchdown catch in school history. The two touchdown catches moved Wilkerson's career total to 29, which ranks sixth in OVC history, six off the all-time record. He recorded his fourth 100-yard receiving game of the season (and 10th of his career) and increased his career receiving yardage mark to 2,874 yards, 10th most in OVC history.   Daniel Santacaterina threw three touchdown passes to lead Southeast Missouri State to a 24-21 victory over No. 16 Jacksonville State on Saturday. It was Southeast Missouri State's first win at Jacksonville, Alabama, since 1991, when it entered Division I play. The Redhawks had just one road win in 11 games against the Gamecocks -- a 24-0 victory in 1964. Santacaterina tossed an 80-yard touchdown pass to Kristian Wilkerson that stretched the Redhawks (4-3, 2-1 Ohio Valley Conference) lead to 17-7 with 4:21 to play. The Gamecocks (5-3, 2-2) answered two minutes later on Zerrick Cooper's 8-yard TD pass to Jamari Hester.

SEMO recovered the ensuing onside kick and scored three plays later on Santacaterina's 38-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Alston. Alston caught the ball around the Gamecocks 15 and beat two defenders into the end zone. Cooper threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Ahmad Edwards with seven seconds to play.   Daniel Santacaterina threw two touchdown passes and ran in for a score as Southeast Missouri State rolled to a 56-10 victory over Division II-member West Virginia State on Saturday. Santacaterina ran for an 18-yard touchdown, and then connected with Aaron Alston on a 50-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Santacaterina hit Colby Cornett on a 26-yard TD pass, and Geno Hess' 8-yard touchdown run pushed the Redhawks' lead to 28-0 at halftime. Hess scored again on a 24-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter and finished with 96 yards rushing on 10 carries. Santacaterina was 15-of-20 passing for 279 yards and had 46 yards rushing. Mark Robinson, Zion Custis and Brayden Hull also had touchdown runs for Southeast Missouri State (2-2). Al Young had an interception in his second-straight game. Donovan Riddick threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Isiah Scott early in the third quarter for West Virginia State.   Daniel Santacaterina ran for two touchdowns and threw for a third as Southeast Missouri State rolled past Southern Illinois, 44-26 Thursday night in the 87th meeting between the schools located just 45 miles apart. The oldest rivalry for both schools, the game was dubbed "The War of the Wheel" in 2018 and the Redhawks have captured the ship's wheel in back-to-back seasons. Javon Williams punched in from the 1 midway through the first quarter and the Salukis held a 7-0 lead and, after Santacaterina scored from the 3 early in the second quarter, D.J. Davis raced 17 yards to put Southern Illinois up 14-7.

Zion Custis and Mark Robinson had short scoring runs to put Southeast Missouri State back on top 20-14 at intermission. Santacaterina scored from 7-yards out and fired 18-yards to Kristian Wilkerson late in the third quarter to push the lead to 37-14. Santacaterina finished 14 of 25 for 248 yards passing and the Redhawks ran for another 281 yards and five scores.   There's no doubt a special defensive player will emerge in a special year for the STATS FCS Buck Buchanan Award. A watch list of 25 nominees was announced Thursday for the silver anniversary season of the Buchanan, which honors the defensive player of the year in college football's Division I subdivision.

The list included at least one player from all 13 FCS conferences. First awarded in 1995, the Buchanan has sent past winners such as Dexter Coakley, Rashean Mathis, Jared Allen, Arthur Moats and Kyle Emanuel on to the NFL.
