  Michael Van Buren Jr. threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Bower Sharp to rally LSU to a 23-22 win over Arkansas on Saturday, snapping a three-game losing streak and giving interim coach Frank Wilson his first victory since replacing Brian Kelly. The Tigers (6-4, 3-4 SEC) snapped a three-game losing streak in Wilson's second game heading the team since Brian Kelly was fired on Oct. 27, Trailing 22-16 early in the fourth quarter, LSU took over at its own 8-yard line. Van Buren led the 12-play, 92-yard scoring drive that saw tailback Ju'Jan Johnson complete one pass and attempt another along with an attempted pass by wide receiver Zavion Thomas.

The drive was capped off by a Van Buren's pass in the corner of the end zone to tight end Sharp with just under eight minutes remaining. Making his first career start at quarterback in place of the injured Garrett Nussemeier, Van Buren completed 21 of 31 passes for 221 yards. He also had a pivotal 35-yard run on second-and-16 with under five minutes to go in a drive that ate up the final five minutes after Arkansas missed a 48-yard field-goal attempt.   D.J. Crowther scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and ran for a career-high 197 yards to lead Dartmouth 24-14 past Cornell on Saturday. Crowther, the second-leading rusher in the Ivy League, racked up his third 100-yard game of the season on 31 carries. He gave Dartmouth (7-2, 4-2 Ivy) a 10-7 lead at the 3:04 mark of the second quarter with a 67-yard scamper, and the Big Green never relinquished the lead again. He added his second score, a 20-yard rush, on the other side of the break.

Grayson Saunier added a 1-yard sneak at the 14:17 mark of the fourth quarter. Saunier was 13-of-23 passing for 122 yards. Garrett Bass-Sulpizio accounted for both scores for Cornell, keeping a 3-yard rush in the second quarter, and finding TJ Hamilton for a 33-yard touchdown in the fourth. Bass-Sulpizio was 37-of-45 passing for 328 yards. The loss snaps a streak of four-straight wins for the Big Red (4-5, 3-3), after opening the season 0-4. - AP College Football

  SEPT 22 IVY LEAGUE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: D.J. Crowther, Dartmouth,...Crowther finished with 143 yards on 20 carries, and three touchdowns, all three shattering his previous career highs. He also had three catches for 32 yards, finishing with 175 yards from scrimmage as part of the Big Green's 27-20 win over No. 25/23 New Hampshire. Crowther had rushing scores of four, 16 and 33 yards, coming in the second, third and fourth quarters. His three rushing touchdowns marked the most by a Dartmouth running back since Ryder Stone had three against Brown on November 15, 2014.   Kelley Joiner ran for two touchdowns and South Florida scored five rushing touchdowns en route to a 48-3 win over Bethune-Cookman in a season opener Saturday night. South Florida's ground game rolled up 231 yards while its defense held Bethune-Cookman to just 48. Quarterback Byrum Brown used a play fake to skirt the left side and raced along the sideline for a 42-yard first-quarter touchdown to open the scoring for the Bulls, who scored four TDs before the Wildcats got their lone field goal with :22 left in the first half when Cade Hechter converted a 48-yard field goal.

Joiner scored on a pair of short runs and Ta'Ron Keith and Nay'Quan Wright each scored from the 1. Joiner carried 14 times for 78 yards and Brown finished with 74 yards on eight carries for South Florida. Brown completed 13 of 20 pass attempts for 152 yards. Bryce Archie completed 2 of 3 pass attempts, including a 15-yard TD pass to Michael Brown-Stephens with 2:19 left. Bethune-Cookman managed just 170 total yards despite maintaining possession for almost 38 minutes. - AP College Football

A finalist for the 2023 Walter Payton Award, he ranked second nationally with his 1,378 yards while sitting third in the FCS with 125.3 rushing yards per game. He eclipsed the 100-yard rushing plateau in seven contests - including a pair of 200-yard performances against Missouri State (259 yards) and North Alabama (221 yards).   2022 ALL-OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM: RB - Sam Franklin, UT Martin,...A native of Little Rock, Ark., Franklin was part of a two-headed rushing attack for UT Martin, spelling first-team All-OVC selection Zak Wallace for a change of pace. Along with being named OVC Freshman of the Year, Franklin ranked fifth in the OVC in total rushing yards (676) despite having almost 25 less carries than any player who ranked ahead of him. He finished the season with 85 rushes to average 8.0 yards/carry, while scoring eight touchdowns. Franklin also caught 12 passes for 55 yards. A finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, Franklin scored a season-best three touchdowns in a win over Lindenwood while adding two scores and a season-high 157 rushing yards against Murray State.
